He began his career as a cinematographer and editor at PBS in San Diego where he produced and directed the documentary, "The Best For Most" which won an Emmy award, Bronze Hugo at the Chicago International Film Festival and a Cine Eagle which placed it in the permanent collection of the U.S. Library of Congress. Later relocating to Los Angeles, Philip quickly established himself as an in-demand DP for some of the industry's most renowned documentary filmmakers, including David L. Wolper, Robert Guenette, Alan Landsburg, Jack Haley Jr., Mel Stuart, Harrison Engle and Jon Wilkman. His work has aired on American Masters, Frontline, HBO America Undercover, and A&E Biography. His documentaries have won three Emmy awards.

In addition to his distinguished career in documentaries, Philip is also an accomplished feature DP. His most recent movie "Trade of Innocents" was filmed in Thailand with Mira Sorvino and Dermot Mulroney. The film dealt with the difficult subject of human trafficking and screened for a world-renowned delegation at the United Nations. Other works include "Amazing Love" filmed in Israel with Tehmina Sunny and Elijah Alexander, "Blue Seduction" with Billy Zane and Estella Warren for Starz Media, "The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry" with Jansen Panettiere, and "Time Changer" with Gavin MacLeod. His film "Rebirth" was showcased at the International Cinematographers Guild Emerging Cinematographer Awards and "One of Those Nights" at the Tribeca First Look Program.

Philip is also a remarkably versatile 2nd Unit DP and skilled operator, versed in a wide range of visual styles as evidenced by his work on "The Visitation" (thriller), "The Trial" (courtroom drama), "Hitters" (crime drama), "Bad Guys" (action), "True Vengeance" (action), and "Wild Side" (psychological drama). Between features, Philip has also shot numerous commercials for well-established national brands, including Carl's Jr., Pizza Hut, and Hexbug Robotic Toys. His work with the Hexbug campaign won the 2012 Telly Award for Best Cinematography.

Based in Los Angeles, Philip holds a European Union passport and has worked in Canada, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
