Reese Witherspoon's Mom Drooling Over "Hot" Charlie Hunnam Is a Mood

Reese Witherspoon's Mom Drooling Over
Listen, I don't know Reese Witherspoon's mom personally, but I'm confident we'd be best friends. In a "Meet My Mom" video by Hello Sunshine, Reese interviews her mother, Betty, and asks questions about memories, movies, and Hollywood crushes. Because Betty knows what's up, she tells her daughter that she recently watched King Arthur. "I like the lead man in King Arthur," she says, wearing a giddy smirk familiar and relatable as hell to anyone who's ever watched Sons of Anarchy. She may or may not call him Charlie "Hoo-nam," but who can blame the sweet woman for getting a little flustered while talking about him? "I like Charlie," she says, and when Reese asks her why (knowing Exactly why), Betty drops the only explanation we need: "He's hot."

She's not wrong, friends, so let's all just enjoy some hot pictures of Charlie Hunnam in King Arthur, shall we? Fine,

Pacific Rim: Uprising – A Huge Step Down?

Guillermo del Toro’s big-time monsters and machines epic was a smash hit with those who were massive fans of such things, while other reviewers felt it wasn’t much more than a different version of Transformers. Only $100 million came in from the box office in the Us, on the back of a $190 million budget. However, the film met with a certain degree of success in other countries and wrapped up with a total of $411 million. It was obvious that this film could end up being the first of many, and it was no surprise to hear that a sequel was in the works. However, a number of cast and crew were dropped, most notably Del Toro himself, a filmmaker already responsible for Pan’s Labyrinth (2006), Blade 2 (2002) and Hellboy (2004). As a result, Steven S. DeKnight took over directing.

Netflix’s ‘Cursed’ Unites Frank Miller and Tom Wheeler for a Take on King Arthur

Audiences have seen a few versions of Arthurian legend in recent years. On the big screen, Transformers: The Last Knight kitchen sink'd King Arthur and his pals for some reason, and Charlie Hunnam tried to punch his way to victory in Guy Ritchie's King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. And on the small screen, and probably the best of the bunch, was the 2008 series Merlin. Well it's about to get some competition thanks to a new deal between Netflix, Frank Miller, and Tom Wheeler (Puss in Boots, The Lego Ninjago Movie). As Deadline reports, Netflix's …

Movie Review: Pacific Rim: Uprising

Guillermo del Toro’s “robots versus monsters” blockbuster Pacific Rim arrived in the summer of 2013 with plenty of intrigue and excitement among film fans, but it failed somewhat to gain much interest with domestic audiences. The film struggled to pass $100 million domestically, but it’s overseas box office soared to much higher as it pushed its worldwide total to just over $400 million. While not a runaway success, there has always been talk of a sequel but it was never at the top of production company Legendary’s agenda. Guillermo del Toro eventually moved onto the very strange Crimson Peak (2015) and this year’s best picture winner The Shape of Water (2017), which also got him his first directing Academy Award. Things have been good for him since 2013, but he didn’t have the time to get back in the directing chair for a Pacific Rim’s sequel when Legendary was ready,

‘Pacific Rim Uprising’ Leads International Box Office With $122.5 Million Debut

‘Pacific Rim Uprising’ Leads International Box Office With $122.5 Million Debut
“Pacific Rim Uprising” launched to a solid start in international markets, opening with $122.5 million in 61 markets.

That $122.5 million includes a $65 million debut in China, bringing its worldwide total to $150 million. Universal and Legendary’s sci-fi tentpole landed $28 million at the domestic box office, and seems to be following the model set by its predecessor, which also saw a strong international showing.

Korea had the second strongest opening with $6.9 million from 429 locations. Other leading territories include Russia ($6.8 million from 1,537 locations), Mexico ($4.9 million from 1,691 locations), and Malaysia ($3.8 million from 149 locations).

The original 2013 film — directed by Guillermo del Toro and starring Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, Charlie Hunnam, and Robert Kazinsky — grossed $411 million at the worldwide box office, taking in $112 million in China and $101.8 million in the U.S. “Pacific Rim Uprising” has scored a mixed critical consensus, with a current 46% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and B CinemaScore.

‘Pacific Rim Uprising’ Conquers ‘Black Panther’ at Weekend Box Office

‘Pacific Rim Uprising’ Conquers ‘Black Panther’ at Weekend Box Office
After weeks of speculating which film could slow “Black Panther’s” impressive roll, “Pacific Rim Uprising” took the top spot at the domestic box office.

Universal and Legendary’s “Pacific Rim Uprising” landed a modest $28 million opening weekend at 3,708 locations. The monster battle movie has garnered mixed critical response, with a current 46% on Rotten Tomatoes. Though it opened with a softer debut than Guillermo del Toro’s “Pacific Rim,” which saw $37 million in July 2013, the sequel was enough to dethrone “Black Panther” in the superhero tentpole’s sixth weekend.

“We’re really pleased with the overall worldwide launch of this title,” Jim Orr, president of domestic distribution at Universal, said. “It was engineered to be a global event, which it delivered on. It’s very rewarding to be No.1 at the box office and to dethrone the former champion is obviously satisfying. They had a great run.”

Like its predecessor,

Movie Review – Pacific Rim Uprising (2018)

Pacific Rim Uprising, 2018.

Directed by Steven S. DeKnight.

Starring John Boyega, Scott Eastwood, Cailee Spaeny, Charlie Day, Rinko Kikuchi, Burn Gorman, Jing Tian, Zhang Jin, Adria Arjona, Karan Brar, Ivanna Sakhno, Shyrley Rodríguez, Levi Meaden, Rahart Adams, Zhu Zhu, Wesley Wong, Lily Ji, and Mackenyu.

Synopsis:

Jake Pentecost, son of Stacker Pentecost, reunites with Mako Mori to lead a new generation of Jaeger pilots, including rival Lambert and 15-year-old hacker Amara, against a new Kaiju threat.

One common assumption regarding sequels is that they are never as good as the first one. Every now and then a sequel comes along that puts that assumption to the test by trying to deliver something different, but more often than not fails. Pacific Rim Uprising falls into that category as it strives to bring something original with its vision, yet ultimately doesn’t do enough to separate it from the first film.

Taking over from Guillermo del Toro,

Box Office: ‘Pacific Rim Uprising’ to Unseat ‘Black Panther’ With Modest $23 Million

Box Office: ‘Pacific Rim Uprising’ to Unseat ‘Black Panther’ With Modest $23 Million
“Pacific Rim Uprising” will knock “Black Panther” off its box office perch this weekend after a rare five-week rule.

The sci-fi tentpole “Pacific Rim Uprising” is heading toward a moderate $23 million debut at 3,708 locations — enough to top “Black Panther” by as much as $8 million. According to early Friday estimates, “Black Panther” is set for the $16 million range, which would leave the Disney-Marvel title with one of the top seven sixth weekends of all time. It will wind up the frame with $630 million at the domestic box office, surpassing “The Avengers” as the fifth-highest domestic grosser of all time, and trailing only “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” “Avatar,” “Titanic,” and “Jurassic World.”

Universal-Legendary’s “Pacific Rim Uprising” is expected to earn as $10 million on its first day Friday, including $2.4 million from Thursday night previews. The movie, the sequel to Guillermo del Toro’s 2013 “Pacific Rim,” had been forecast to score between $22 million and $29 million.
