WWE Legend Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan Passes Away at 73

  • MovieWeb
The pro wrestling world is in mourning today after the loss of one of sports entertainment's most colorful and iconic managers and entertainers. Bobby Heenan, a.k.a. "The Brain," passed away at age 73. While no cause of death was announced, the famous loudmouth manager had been in poor health for years, after he was diagnosed with throat cancer back in 2002. He died at his home in Largo, Florida. Here's part of the WWE's statement on Bobby "The Brain" Heenan.

"WWE is saddened to learn that WWE Hall of Famer Bobby Heenan, regarded by many as the greatest manager in sports-entertainment history, has passed away at age 73. With a career spanning more than four decades, Heenan was the "The Brain" behind some of the most prolific Superstars in sports-entertainment history. Heenan plied his trade as their mischievous manager by running his mouth on their behalf with a sarcastic wit

WWE edit out Paige sex tape joke from Smackdown, Booker T unhappy – WrestleTalk News

Oli Davis rounds up the biggest professional wrestling news in his daily WrestleTalk column…

Kevin Owens: The Face Of DVD Sales

Independence Day didn’t just see the return of John Cena to WWE, the Smackdown Live debut of Rusev and Will Smith overcoming an alien invasion. July 4th also saw the official release of Kevin Owens’ first WWE DVD, quite fitting for the current United States champion and self-proclaimed Face of America.

Kevin Owens allowed himself a moment of reflection on Twitter:

In 1995, my dad rented a VHS of WrestleMania 11 at this video store in my hometown of Marieville. Today, my parents bought my DVD there. pic.twitter.com/cVtXGiHoiF

Montclair Review: ‘Tell Them We Are Rising’ is a Sweeping, Emotionally-Charged Documentary

The dilemma of a film like Stanley Nelson’s sweeping and emotionally-charged new documentary Tell Them We Are Rising: The Story of Historically Black Colleges and Universities is that any one of its rich stories — the founding of any Hbcu, the role they’ve played in the civil rights era, the role they play now as safe spaces for students of color arriving from high schools without students or teachers of color, the individual narratives of students that had attended or are attending them presently, the challenges faced by HBCUs today — could be its own stand-alone feature film. With that said, Tell Them We Are Rising is superbly crafted and in only 83 minutes provides an introduction to the history of HBCUs in America with interviews from students currently attending thriving schools like Spelman, Morehouse, and Howard.

Along the way, Nelson captures a certain irony as students struggle to liberate their

Mauro Ranallo shoots on WWE, new Raw commentator revealed | WrestleTalk News

Oli Davis rounds up the biggest professional wrestling news in his daily WrestleTalk column…

Easter is a time for families to come together over chocolate eggs. And something about resurrection.

Families, resurrection – in professional wrestling terms, that pretty much describes The Brothers of Destruction, but Kane’s Happy Easter message and photo on Twitter makes absolutely zero reference to his Deadman half-brother The Undertaker.

pic.twitter.com/fjL61YxOXB

Glenn Jacobs (@GlennJacobsTN) April 16, 2017

I guess there’s the whole Undertaker burning Kane’s family alive and permanently scarring his face thing. But whose family is perfect?

Certainly not the office environment of WWE. Lead Smackdown Live commentator Mauro Ranallo hasn’t been on WWE TV since early March because of depression, and it looks unlikely that he’ll return before his contract expires in August. Ranallo is a well-known sufferer of bipolar disorder, which he was first diagnosed with aged

The Undertaker: a look at his 23-1 WrestleMania record

Gavin Jasper Apr 3, 2017

As the Undertaker announces his retirement, we look back at his Wrestlemania record...

This article is from Den Of Geek Us.

WrestleMania XXX was an eventful show. It calmed the fears of those afraid that it would crash the WWE Network and cause major damage to the company's latest venture. Cesaro broke away from his tag team and broke out by winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Trophy. Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, and the Rock hung out in the ring and had a blast. Mr. T and Roddy Piper buried the hatchet. Daniel Bryan went through an endless supply of punishment before being defeating Triple H, Randy Orton, and Batista.

That was a big moment and a major story, but the thing people will be talking about for a long time is the end of Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar. For the first time ever, Undertaker lost at

Save The Last Dance For Me review (UK Tour): It’s back to the British seaside of yesteryear in this foot-tapping new musical from the creatives behind Dreamboats and Petticoats.

Save The Last Dance For Me review by Katey Thompson, September 2016.

Save The Last Dance For Me review

Save The Last Dance waltzes you back to an era of typical British seaside holidays, with candy floss, ice creams and rock and roll. The production, written by Doc Pomus and Mort Shuman, surrounds you with the instantly recognisable songs from bands of the day, including The Drifters, Elvis Presley, Ray Charles, Ben E King and Booker T and the MGs.

The show opens with Jennifer (Lola Saunders) and Marie (Elizabeth Carter) planning their first summer holiday without their parents in uptown Lowestoft. They have wildly different ideas of what their perfect summer holiday would be and find anything but what they had imagined.

20 Most Popular Shows On WWE Network

WWE.com

WWE has released the information on the most popular shows currently airing on the WWE Network. With a subscriber number hovering at around 1.2 million, the network has introduced an impressive amount of original programming in its two-plus years of existence, although many feel that the company could be utilizing the service in a much more effective way.

The list of shows is interesting in the sense that it shows the enormous popularity of a new original series, confirms that Nxt is a strong selling point for subscribers and proves that the big events continue to amass interest among viewers. It also reaffirms WWE’s claims that the archive footage, while a huge attraction for hardcore fans, is among the least-viewed content available on the streaming service. It also highlights the effectiveness of the live stream for opening shows up to an audience.

Let’s take a look at

WWE Raw 03.21.16 Recap & Review – Huge Announcement Regarding ‘Taker’s future, Kevin Owens vs. Aj Styles, Roman Reigns & more

Raw rolled into the Wells Centre in Philiadelphia with Wrestlemania only 2 weeks away. Vince McMahon had a huge announcement regarding the match between Shane O’Mac and The Undertaker at the biggest show of the year, whilst Roman Reigns had more in store for The Authority following his attack on Triple H last week…

The “Road To Wrestlemania” made a stop in Philly for the March 21st edition of Monday Night Raw. There aren’t many cities louder and more passionate and Philly when it comes to crowds, but not even their enthusiasm could make this show anything worth writing home about. The excitement for the grandest show of the air is palpable at this time, but the Road has been a little bumpy this year as WWE’s stagnant product continues to cure insomnia every Monday night.

The show opened with Stephanie McMahon cutting a promo (I know,

WWE Opening Physical Hall of Fame

Our top story today is a huge announcement for Wrestlemania 33. And no, it’s not what you’re thinking of.

The WWE have announced that Wrestlemania 33 will be returning to Orlando, Florida – taking place in the Citrus Bowl on the 2nd April, 2017. But that isn’t our scoop here.

According to our source at Attractions Management magazine, they will also be opening a physical Hall of Fame there.

This makes perfect sense, as Orlando is the location of the WWE Performance Centre, and where Nxt is filmed. Until now, the Hall of Fame is something that’s just existed on a web page and Vince McMahon’s head.
