The 2018 Daytime Emmy Awards will be handed out on April 29, but the winners in the soap opera acting categories have already been decided by blue ribbon panels that viewed sample performance reels. That includes the race for Best Younger Actress where Reign Edwards is nominated for the third year in a row for her role as Nicole Avant on CBS’s “The Bold and the Beautiful.” But she has yet to win. Will she prevail for the first time for scenes in which she struggles with the choice of whether to give up her child?

The reel opens with Nicole in a consultation with her doctor, who has diagnosed her with secondary infertility. She may not be able to conceive another child. But she has already given birth to one child, Lizzy, whom Nicole carried as a surrogate for her transgender sister Maya (Karla Mosley). If Nicole will never be able to give birth again,

Daytime Emmy Winners: Complete List

Daytime Emmy Winners: Complete List
Just as they are preparing to split up, Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan on Sunday won their second consecutive Daytime Emmy Award for entertainment talk show hosts for their syndicated chat show “Live with Kelly and Michael.”

Meanwhile, CBS’ “The Talk” won its first Daytime Emmy for entertainment talk show.

The Daytime Emmy win capped a roller coaster two weeks for Ripa and Strahan after the news broke that Strahan would be moving on to “Good Morning America” full-time in the fall. Ripa protested the decision to keep her in the dark until the last minute by sitting out three episodes of “Live” during the week of April 18.

Ripa previously won Daytime Emmys for entertainment talk show host in 2011 and 2012 during her run on “Live” with previous co-host Regis Philbin. The Daytime Emmy Awards were held Sunday night in Los Angeles but the ceremony was not carried on TV. For

‘Young & Restless’ Leads Daytime Emmy Noms But Ceremony Won’t Be on TV

‘Young & Restless’ Leads Daytime Emmy Noms But Ceremony Won’t Be on TV
CBS’ “Young and the Restless” and ABC’s “General Hospital” lead the list of nominees for this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards, which will not be airing on TV for the second time in the past three years.

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has nixed plans for a telecast of the ceremony because of the cost. Last year NATAS set a two-year deal with Pop, the CBS and Lionsgate-owned cabler, for telecast of the show after a debacle in 2014 when the ceremony aired as a live webcast.

But NATAS decided that the six-figure cost of producing the ceremony for TV was too high even with the license fee offered by Pop. The New York-based academy is believed to be in discussions for another webcast partner.

Low ratings have taken a toll on the Daytime Emmy Awards’ fortunes. The ceremony bounced around from CBS to ABC to CW to

Class | Blu-ray Review

A prolific screenwriter who emerged from the late 1970s as a promising American film director, Lewis John Carlino wouldn’t get behind the camera following his third, and least successfully received feature, Class (1983), an item which, in passing, looks to have the stamp of John Hughes and the Brat Pack all over it. Aggravating in its considerable inconsistencies, this was the director’s first attempt to film a treatment he didn’t write or adapt himself, scripted by Jim Kouf and David Greenwalt (both writers who would move into mainstream film and television). The result is a rather wishy-washy prep school version of The Graduate, but the comparison is merely a pale echo, trapped inside a banal resolution with troubling misogynist tendencies.

Immediately upon meeting his new roommate Skip (Rob Lowe) at prep-school, Johnathan (Andrew McCarthy) is thrust into a rigorous new environment. Initial misgivings are set aside for a

New Tyler Perry’s A Madea Christmas Movie Delivered Great Laughs,Drama & More

New Tyler Perry's A Madea Christmas movie delivered great laughs, drama & more. Lionsagate released their new comedy flick, "Tyler Perry's A Madea Christmas" this weekend. I just checked it out, and thought it was awesome, serving up extremely hysterical laughs, great drama, and more. It stars: Tyler Perry, Kathy Najimy, Chad Michael Murray, Anna Maria Horsford, Tika Sumpter, Eric Lively, Jr Lemon, Alicia Witt, Lisa Whelchel, and Larry the Cable Guy. In the new flick, Madea (Tyler Perry) ends up ,pissing off an entire department store full of people when she takes on a job there. It was absolutely crazy as she just insulted every customer looking for help, which already had me drowning in laughter, but that wasn't even the main plotline. They were just getting started. Eventually, Madea got convinced to help her friend, Eileen, into paying her daughter, Lacey, a surprise visit in the country for Christmas
