Stacy Heatherly moved to Nebraska in 1979 from Glenwood Iowa where her family has lived for generations. After completing her education at Bellevue University and internship at the Bellevue Police Department, she was guided into the film industry and worked as a makeup artist, hair stylist, actor, producer and director for now going on 30 + years.
She is also an author, and has written a book about personal empowerment and enlightenment.
In 2009 combined with her passions for film, empowerment, and community she started a film-based non-profit organization. Digg Site Productions produces documentaries and holds youth summer film camps. At camps, student's produce films that are screened at the Annual White Light City Film Festival - Named after a local tradition started by the Simmons family. Marianne Simmons is credited for getting every historic building in Fremont on the National Historic Registry. We are honored to support those efforts by naming the film festival after that tradition.
As the Film Commissioner of the Eastern Nebraska Film Office (ENFO), with the help of Kayleen Carlson, has designed the only official film incentive program in Nebraska. ENFO is dedicated to developing and nurturing a film-friendly community and infrastructure in Nebraska.
ENFO in conjunction with other organizations are focused on bringing films and working with Film Industry Professionals to build an equine film studio. The studio will support horse camps across the US to train horses and riders for upcoming films. There is a potential significant economic impact for Nebraska and will also providing job opportunities and way of life changes for indigenous First People.
She has an unbridled passion to learn and bring compassion into all that I help create.
