Bruce Hart was educated at Syracuse University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree, and at Yale Law School (LL.B.). He wrote special material for Carl Ballantine and Larry Hankin and for the Charles Playhouse in Boston. His sketches include "Uncle Bergie" and "Rod-Wright", and he joined ASCAP in 1961.

Helped write the theme song to the famous children's show Sesame Street (1969).
He and his wife were among the first writers on Sesame Street (1969) when it began in 1969 as a children's show that tried to be equally entertaining and educational.
