    American leading man and singer, with Famous Players Lasky and Paramount in the 1920's. Best known for co-starring in the Howard Hughes aviation drama Hell's Angels (1930). Did not survive the advent of sound for long and his career had run its course by 1932. He began to drink heavily and died aged 39 of cirrhosis of the liver.
