J.D. Hall was born on May 7, 1947 in the USA as James Donald Hall. He is known for his work on Fatal Attraction (1987), Father of the Bride (1991) and Jaws: The Revenge (1987). He was previously married to Eugenia Wright.

Met his wife, Eugenia Wright, while they were both acting students at Los Angeles City College, 1975. They did two television movies together Pigs vs. Freaks (1984) and Rascals and Robbers: The Secret Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn (1982), both directed by Dick Lowry.
In 1983 J.D. was the first African American to ever run for S.A.G. President. He received 20% of the National vote.
J.D. was a SAG board member from 1980 - 1983 and received a certificate of appreciation from the Board when he left in 1983.
