Ilya Gurin was born on 9 July 1922 in Kharkov, Ukrainian SSR [now Kharkiv, Ukraine]. He was a director and writer, known for Nashi znakomyye (1969), Yeshchyo mozhno uspet (1974) and Za chto? (1991). He died on 8 September 1994 in Moscow, Russia.
