Marvel Has Reportedly Pushed Production For Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 to 2021

The Marvel universe was forced to do a bit of restructuring after Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn was fired when some of his inappropriate tweets from a decade ago resurfaced. Although Marvel will reportedly still use Gunn's script, we're waiting to see who will take his place as director. Now it seems Marvel has reportedly given itself more time to decide who that replacement will be. According to a new listings report from Production Weekly, the beginning of production was pushed to February 2021.

The movie was originally set to begin filming in February 2019 with hopes that it'd be out sometime in 2020. But if production really has been moved to 2021, then we'll have to wait even longer until we see our intergalactic protectors back in action. Nonetheless, we're still holding out hope that they're able to stick with the original date to start filming. After all, the fate of the galaxy depends on it.

Guardians of the Galaxy 3 Wants a Female Director, Shortlist Revealed?

Disney is reportedly looking for a female director to take on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. It was recently revealed that Marvel Studios is looking to start production on the third and final movie in the franchise sometime in 2021, under the working title of Hot Christmas, which has yet to be officially confirmed at this time. 2021 is a pretty long wait, especially considering that the film was already supposed to be in the pre-production process as of now. But, the studio has yet to find a director to take over for James Gunn.

According to a new rumor, Disney and Marvel Studios are on the hunt to find the right woman to direct Guardians of the Galaxy 3. No context was given, but apparently there is a shortlist consisting of Dee Rees (Mudbound), Michelle Maxwell MacLaren (Game of Thrones), and S.J. Clarkson (Star Trek 4). Again, this information has not been

Director Shortlist For Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 Has Leaked

Just today, a report started making the rounds that the bulk of directors being eyed for the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 are female, and now we’re getting word from SuperBroMovies of some of the names up for consideration.

One of the most famous filmmakers on this list is Jane Campion, creator of the acclaimed series Top of the Lake and director of 1993’s Academy Award-winning The Piano. For a talent you’d more closely associate with franchise fare, however, there’s also S.J. Clarkson, whose résumé includes episodes of Jessica Jones, as well as the upcoming Star Trek 4. In other words, she’s a stranger to neither Marvel nor space travel.

Also on the list is Dee Rees, who’s been earning plaudits this decade for dramas like Mudbound and Pariah, and has recently been working with the likes of Anne Hathaway, Willem Dafoe, and Ben Affleck

Is Marvel Looking For a Female Director To Replace James Gunn on Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3?

Marvel Studios and Disney still have yet to find a director to replace James Gunn on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Finding a director as good as Gunn for this franchise is going to be tough. I know some people don’t care for Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy films, but the majority of Marvel fans loved them!

There were rumors that Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi might be in talks for the film, which I think a lot of fans would be ok with. After all, he did such an awesome job with Ragnarok! But a new rumor has surfaced that says Marvel is now looking at hiring a female director to take it on.

The rumor originated from regular Twitter rumor dropper DanielRPK, who has been hit and miss on some of the rumors he’s previously dropped. So this could be legit it could be a load of crap,

Marvel Eyeing Female Directors To Replace James Gunn On Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3

Before July 2018, James Gunn and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy were practically synonymous. Oh, how times have changed.

Due to a number of disturbing and offensive tweets from the past resurfacing, Gunn was fired from the McU over the summer, leaving Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 without a director and the cosmic side of Marvel’s cinematic juggernaut in need of a new shepherd.

As things stand, the search for a replacement is still underway, with sources saying that Disney’s in no real rush and is content to take their time in finding the perfect candidate. Be that as it may, the film remains a priority for the studio, and from what we understand, they’ve got their eye on a number of female directors.

Word comes via Omega Underground’s Christopher Marc, who had the following to say on Twitter:

Hearing that the bulk of

Dave Bautista Hints At WWE Return Now That Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 Is On Hold

Is it too much of a stretch to say that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has spent the past two months spinning its wheels?

Ever since James Gunn was swiftly removed from the director post, Marvel’s cosmic threequel has teetered on the verge of pre-production for what feels like an eternity. Without a filmmaker at the helm, Guardians 3 suddenly became an unknown quantity within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is particularly disconcerting when you consider that the Guardians series has truly raked in the cash ever since Star-Lord and Co. were introduced to the movie world back in 2014.

Who will be the one to pick up the reins? That question continues to linger like a foul stench. And with no sign of any tangible progress, it’s looking increasingly likely that Drax the Destroyer (read: Dave Bautista) is about to jump ship. Which is to say that the

Guardians of the Galaxy 3 Not Shooting Until 2021, Is It a Christmas Movie?

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 isn't coming any time soon. It looks like the sequel won't begin production until 2021, after getting put on the backburner by Disney. Pre-production was originally supposed to be happening now, with an aim for an early 2019 start date, but director James Gunn was fired from the project after some old tweets came back to haunt him. Since then, Disney has been meeting with potential directors, but there doesn't appear to be a rush, according to sources.

Along with the 2021 production start date, the working title for Guardians of the Galaxy 3 has reportedly been revealed as Hot Christmas. Which begs the question, is it a Christmas movie? Will we get to see Star-Lord, who experienced quite a few Christmases before being whisked off to space, trying to enjoy some of his family holiday traditions, teaching the others, when chaos ensues and a new mission breaks out?

The Working Title For Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 Has Us Excited But Production Has Been Delayed Until 2021

The working title for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has been revealed via Production Weekly, and we’re pretty excited. Granted, working titles don’t always have anything to do with the subject matter of the film, but if Gotg 3 does then we could be getting a superhero holiday movie! Guardians of The Galaxy 3 is currently working under the title “Hot Christmas”.

I’m really trying not to get my hopes up because I know I’ll just be crushed when the title is actually released, but if Marvel is making a superhero Christmas film that’s super exciting! I’m currently envisioning watching it every holiday season going forward and then subtly using it as an excuse to sneak in a viewing of every other Marvel film.

Unfortunately, the report also says that the movie won’t commence production until February 2021, which means the movie may not hit

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 Reported To Begin Production In 2021

The firing of writer-director James Gunn has caused quite a mess for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but it sounds like things will eventually be pushing forward with the Marvel trilogy-maker, just much later than expected.

A new listing report indicates that production on the third Guardians of the Galaxy is set to begin in February 2021 under the working title “Hot Christmas.” This suggests a roughly two-year delay from the release date predicted before the project’s original helmsman was dismissed over controversial tweets. And now that Avengers: Infinity War has introduced the titular team of the series to the wider McU, it’s likely that a setback this great will send ripples through the franchise, forcing other Marvel movies to undergo rewrites to maintain the overarching continuity of this interconnected universe.

While Disney seems to stand by their choice to drop Gunn, it was previously reported that Marvel Studios

Avengers 4 Star Karen Gillan Shares Mysterious New Photo Of Nebula

Production has now completed on the reshoots for Avengers 4, and one of the stars has given us a fresh look at their character.

Guardians of the Galaxy actress Karen Gillan took to Instagram to share a brand new promo shot of Nebula, cyborg assassin and adoptive daughter of Thanos. The stylish pic stars a somber Nebula, with her head titled downward and her eyes closed. A hint at the devastating end of Avengers 4, perhaps? You decide.

Though the character survived the Mad Titan’s apocalyptic snap at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, many fans are theorizing that Nebula might not make it out of the next film alive. Either because she’ll go out in a blaze of glory, stealing the Infinity Gauntlet from her evil pops, like in the original comic book storyline, or because she’ll make the ultimate sacrifice to save her sister Gamora, as another convincing idea suggested.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 production pushed back to 2021

Although it was originally slated to begin production in the next few months ahead of a 2020 release, Marvel’s plans for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 were thrown into disarray this summer when Disney fired writer-director James Gunn due to offensive tweets the filmmaker made back in his pre-Marvel days.

This forced the studio to reassess its plans, with actor Dave Bautista stating that the third Guardians movie is now on indefinite hold, and rumours circulating that Marvel has decided to bring forward Doctor Strange 2 to plug the gap in the McU’s schedule.

Given that Marvel has made no comment on the Guardians movie, nor does it seem to be in any hurry to bring on board a new director, there has been some speculation that the studio could have scrapped its plans for Star-Lord and company’s third solo outing.

However, fans can seemingly breathe a little easier now,

Police Drama ‘Deputy’ With David Ayer and Will Beall in Development at Fox

Fox is developing “Deputy,” a police drama from David Ayer and former Lapd detective Will Beall.

The project, which has a script-plus-significant-penalty commitment, will have Ayers on board not only as an executive producer but also as director. Beall, who also wrote CBS’ short-lived adaptation of “Training Day,” will pen the script.

“Deputy,” which is being made with the full cooperation of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, is a co-production between Fox and Entertainment One. Ayer and Chris Long’s production company, Cedar Park, is also on board.

Infinity Gauntlet Writer’s Unsure If Adam Warlock’s Still Coming To The McU

Seeing as he plays such a key role in the Infinity Stones saga in the comics, Marvel fans have been calling for Adam Warlock to feature in the McU for years. While the Russo brothers prepared us to not expect him in Avengers: Infinty War, though, it looked like James Gunn had plans for him anyway as he was teased in the post-credits scene of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

However, Gunn’s shocking dismissal from Guardians Vol. 3 means that we’re once again unsure as to whether the one known as Him will make his big screen debut anytime soon. And we’re not alone in that, as legendary comic book writer Jim Starlin – who penned The Infinity Gauntlet and The Infinity War storylines – has admitted he’s “not in the loop” enough to know for certain about Adam Warlock’s cinematic future.

“At the time we’re recording this,

Doctor Strange 2 Appears to be Marvel's Next Film

Kirsten Howard Oct 15, 2018

Benedict Cumberbatch and friends will likely be back on set for Doctor Strange 2 before the year is out, according to Benedict Wong...

Where are we? This has gotten a bit confusing, so let's get up to date.

Doctor Strange star Benedict Cumberbatch reportedly started pay negotiations for the movie's sequel at the start of the summer, landing a $7.5 million payday for his efforts. Said negotiations happened to take place around the time director James Gunn was fired off Guardians Of The Galaxy 3 by Disney for old 'bad taste joke' tweets that were dug up online by the alt-right. Putting two and two together, there was then speculation that Doctor Strange 2 could slip into GOTG3's spring 2019 production start date while the movie floundered for a director to take on Gunn's existing script.

Since then, Black Panther 2 has been officially confirmed, with Ryan Coogler back to direct,

Benedict Wong confirms Avengers 4 return, says Doctor Strange 2 could shoot this December

While the shocking climax to Avengers: Infinity War showed a number of our favourite Marvel heroes turning to dust in the wake of Thanos’ Snap, questions were left hanging over the fates of many fan-favourite supporting characters – not least Benedict Wong’s Wong, who bowed out of the fight against the Children of Thanos in New York in order to protect the Sanctum Sanctorum.

During an appearance at Fan Expo Vancouver this past weekend (via Pop Goes The World), Benedict Wong remained coy as to whether his character survived The Snap, although he did confirm that he has shot scenes for Avengers 4. Whether that means he’ll feature in flashbacks/time travel scenes, or he’ll be among the many characters whose resurrections we’re expecting, it seems we’ll have to wait until May of next year to find out.

Although he was tight-lipped about Avengers 4, Wong did drop another piece of big news,

5 Fast Facts About the Suicide Squad Sequel

With so much up in the air, it's easy to wonder what we do know about the sequel. We did some digging and scraped together as much confirmed and speculative information as we possibly could.

1. James Gunn Is Writing and Potentially Directing

Although David Ayer wrote and directed the first film, it seems Warner Bros. may be veering in a different direction for round two. The studio was reportedly courting Mel Gibson for the job at first, but in October The Wrap reported that Guardians of the Galaxy's James Gunn is in talks to write and also direct. Back in July a right-wing troll began

Zazie Beetz Says Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker Will Have No Face Tattoos Or Grillz

While the existence of two Clown Princes of Crime on the big screen could well lead to some confusion among casual filmgoers, Joker star Zazie Beetz has pointed out at least a couple of ways in which Joaquin Phoenix’s take on the Batman foe is distinct from the Jared Leto version.

At Ace Comic Con, the Deadpool 2 actress was asked whether Arthur Fleck will be sporting any facial tattoos, much like his equivalent in the Dceu. Beetz quickly dismissed this idea, before making a reference to the metal that Leto sported in his teeth throughout 2016’s Suicide Squad.

“No. And I haven’t seen any grillz up to this point.”

Marvel ‘Star Wars’ Writer Chuck Wendig Fired, Allegedly For His Political Tweets

A Marvel comics writer for the Star Wars comic books and extended universe has been fired, allegedly because of “uncivil” tweets.

Chuck Wendig said via Twitter that he was let go after posting a number of explicit tweets attacking Republicans and the Gop over the confirmation of Associate Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Wendig claimed in his tweets that “It was too much politics, too much vulgarity, too much negativity on my part.” He later blamed Comicsgate, a campaign by artist Ethan Van Sciver to allegedly stop so-called social justice warriors from injecting liberal activism into stories. Critics of the movement have called it harassment.

Marvel has confirmed in published reports that Wendig is no longer with the company, but declined to state the reason.

To conclude: this is really quite chilling. And it breaks my heart. I am very sad, and worried for the country I live in, and the world,
