Ms. Rosser Goodman is an award-winning, internationally recognized director whose directorial work streams on Netflix, Hulu, Sundance TV and PBS.
Ms. Goodman's directorial debut, Holding Trevor, a dark dramatic feature film, premiered at OUTFEST where she was named one of the FIVE IN FOCUS directors under the tenure of Kirsten Schaffer there. The movie garnered a U.S. theatrical release and critical acclaim. The Los Angeles Times described Goodman's work as "suspenseful and involving." Variety said she "delivers a polished product." Ms. Goodman was selected as a finalist for the prestigious Directors' Program at ABC/Disney's Creative Talent Development & Inclusion department. She wrote and directed PEA POD for the HBO Insider Comedy Challenge and placed in the Top 5. Her suspense thriller, [in]visible, won the Best Filmmaker Award in the Easter Seals Disability 48 Hour Film Challenge. And, her original screenplay A Minute Longer won the Panasonic Filmmakers' Award and advanced to the second round at the Sundance Labs.
Her career began working in on the set of a Steven Spielberg series for NBC called Earth2. Ms. Goodman quickly worked her way up in the Assistant Directing department working with high profile talent and amassed more than 500 days working on large UNION sets in both TV and Film. With a passion for storytelling and a hunger to make her own content, Ms. Goodman began writing, directing and producing her original scripts. To date, Ms. Goodman has directed 16 successful independent projects (including two feature films). She has collaborated on hundreds of commercials, music videos and pilots as a producer, production manager or First Assistant Director. Clients include Bad Robot, Disney, Dreamworks, HBO, Lionsgate, NBCU, MTV, Paramount, Showtime, Sony and Warner Brothers.
Presently, Ms. Goodman is attached as showrunner for the TV series "So Tru" about the life and legacy of feminist and abolitionist Sojourner Truth. Ms. Goodman is in development on her third feature film to direct entitled #voteLOVE.
Ms. Goodman is an active member of Alliance of Women Directors, Film Fatales, GreenLight Women, 50 Women Can Change Hollywood, SeeJane.org, The Producers Guild of America Women's Impact Network and Glass Elevator.
Her humanitarian efforts include serving on the Advisory Board for SoCal NAMIC. Prior to that Ms. Goodman was a Board Member for Women of Color Unite/The JTC List. She earned "Board Member of the Year" at Diamond in the Raw, assisting at-risk girls in South LA. Ms. Goodman received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Millennia Scope Entertainment Foundation which eradicates homophobia through all media.
