James Genn is a film and TV writer, producer and director originally from Vancouver, Canada. Over a thirty-year career he has directed and produced hundreds of hours of TV series, pilots, and feature films. His work includes multiple episodes of Wild Cards, The Good Doctor, Ginny and Georgia, Charmed, The Hardy Boys, Ransom, Rookie Blue, Call Me Fitz; and Kim's Convenience, half a dozen TV pilots, Wild Cards, House Party, Seed, as well as the beloved feature Old stock and the award-winning short film The Dog Walker. Surrounded by art, photography, music and film as a kid, James built a repertoire of sweet, quirky comedy films in his twenties that took him to festivals around the world. He's applied his unique voice and exceptional quality of work to almost every genre, and he's been recognized by the Canadian Screen Awards, Genie, Gemini, and DGC awards, as well as the first ever Philip Borsos Award, for work ranging from comedies, to genre, to procedural and dramas.

James is represented by Carl Liberman at the Characters Agency in Canada, and Bill Douglass/Jennifer Good at Paradigm Agency in the US.
