We recently had the opportunity of snagging a few minutes with Kyle Gass, actor, comedian, and most notably the guitarist and vocalist with the band Tenacious D (alongside Jack Black). Tenacious D Announces Tour, Teases New Album

Tenacious D Announces Tour, Teases New Album
Jack Black and Kyle Gass are back together again and are bringing Tenacious D on the road for the first time in five years. The self-proclaimed greatest band in the world are hitting the road for the first time since they toured in honor of their 2012 album Rize of the Fenix. As if that isn't exciting enough, the comedic rock duo has also teased plans for a new album that may be out before the end of the year.

The band made the announcement via a new, crudely animated video posted to their YouTube channel. In the video, Kyle Gass and Jack Black are sitting on a couch in their living room discussing the need to pay their rent. Gass suggests making a new album, to which Black replies, "Ugh, dude that's gonna take us like five more years, we are f****d." The video then says that they will

Watch Jack Black Perform A Solo With A Children's Toy At A Tenacious D Concert

In celebration of the announcement that there will be another Tenacious D film, I present to you this look at the band in 2018. Jack Black is feeling groovy and breaks out a children's instrument (the Saxaboom) while buddy Kyle Gass gets absolutely silly with it up on stage. It's crazy to see both these guys looking much older than at the prime of Tenacious D, but it's good to see neither has lost a step despite their age! Check out the video below, and let us know if you're excited for a new Tenacious D film:

Jack Black Says There's a New Tenacious D Movie Sequel in Development

Jack Black and Kyle Gass' 2006 movie Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny was a fun and ridiculous movie that seemed like a one and done kind of thing. It was a product of its time when the actual band Tenacious D was at their peak of popularity. Also, the movie completely bombed at the box office and only made $13.9 million on a budget of $20 million. You'd think that fact alone would guarantee that a sequel would never be made.

But, according to Jack Black, there's a sequel in development and it will be coming out in October. The news comes from The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and Black told them:

“I don’t know where you’ll be able to see it, but we have decided that it’s happening and it’s coming out.”

There are absolutely no other details on the film project or any info on the story,

Tenacious D To Return To The Movies For A Sequel To ‘The Pick Of Destiny’

A sequel to the 2006 comedy Tenacious D: The Pick Of Destiny is on the way. The news comes to us via MyAJC and from band member and actor Jack Black himself. Speaking at the Shaky Knees Festival in Atlanta, Georgia, Black had the following to say mid-set.

“I don’t know where you’ll be able to see it, but we have decided that it’s happening and it’s coming out,” Black said.

The same site reveals that the film is set for cinemas in October.

The first film followed musicians Jb (Jack Black) and Kg (Kyle Gass) begin a friendship that could lead to the formation of the greatest rock band in the world. To make that dream come true, the righteous duo embark on a quest to find a legendary guitar pick that possesses supernatural powers. The movie also featured an appearance from Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl as the devil.

5 Disappointing Movies That Deserve a Second Chance

5 Disappointing Movies That Deserve a Second Chance
There are more than a handful of sequels and franchise movies that came out amongst tons of hype only to fail or disappoint fans that waited far too long to finally see them. Sometimes, its this anticipation that makes a movie seem less than its sum. We, as lovers of pop culture, have spent far too much time cultivated our own ideas about them. In many instances we have years, even decades, to build the movie for ourself inside our brain. So, of course, more often than not...There's going to be a disconnect. We never return to these movies again. Our tainted memories remain firmly in place. But sometimes, its these bloated expectations that devour us, killing any enjoyment or fun we might otherwise have with any given installment of the latest blockbuster. Sometimes, we just take these things too seriously. And a perfectly decent movie gets lost in that 'expectation translation'.
