‘Walking Dead’ Cast Members, Other Stars React to Death of Stuntman John Bernecker

Hollywood mourned the loss of “The Walking Dead” stuntman John Bernecker following his death from injuries sustained on set.

AMC halted production of the show’s eighth season in wake of the tragedy. Bernecker was shooting a scene in which he was supposed to fall off a 20-foot balcony onto a safety cushion below. He missed the cushion and hit the concrete instead.

Celebrities, including his “Walking Dead” castmates, offered condolences on Twitter to the veteran stunt performer and fight choreographer.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays Negan on the series, penned, “Deep sorrow today, and for every tomorrow. Love, respect, and condolences to John’s family and friends. He will be forever missed.”

Woody Harrelson and Kevin Costner to hunt Bonnie & Clyde in Netflix’s Highwayman

Deadline is reporting that Woody Harrelson and Kevin Costner are in talks to play legendary lawmen Frank Hamer and Manny Gault, the two former Texas Rangers tasked with hunting down notorious outlaws Bonnie & Clyde, in the drama Highwayman.

The site reports that Netflix is currently in talks to acquire the project from Universal Pictures, where it was set up four years ago. John Lee Hancock (Saving Mr. Banks, The Founder) will direct, and has rewritten an earlier script from John Fusco (Young Guns, Hidalgo).

Rather than focussing on the two outlaw lovers, famously portrayed by Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway in 1967’s Bonnie & Clyde, Highwayman will explore the story from the point of view of the posse assembled by Hamer to bring their violent crime spree to and end.

Film Review: ‘The Shack’ is About Spirituality, Not Filmmaking

Chicago – To create spirituality from tragedy is like shooting the proverbial fish – a prominent symbol for Christianity – in a barrel. “The Shack” is based on a popular novel, and doesn’t try to do anything different or cinematic with a man encountering the Holy Trinity after a horrific incident.

Rating: 2.5/5.0

This film is impossible to review from a basis of the spirit, because believers and lovers of the novel won’t care what a snotty critic has to say regarding the weird-but-soft encounter of a desperate man with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. But I can judge it as a film, and it really needed more character development. The wife of the emotionally hurt man is nearly invisible, the religiosity of the family is never really explored and the next door neighbor, a presumably good Christian man, seems oddly clingy to his sad buddy. The two hour and fifteen

Netflix cancels Marco Polo

Marco Polo will not return for a third season, as Netflix pulls the plug on its historical epic...

Here's a surprising one: Netflix has pulled the plug on Marco Polo, opting to end the historical drama series after two seasons rather than renewing it for a third run.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news, as well as revealing that Netflix and the show's producers The Weinstein Company had until the end of the year to make a decision, before their options on the cast's contracts would expire. THR also cites a staggering figure from an unnamed source: Marco Polo purportedly lost Netflix $200 million.

Marco Polo - which starred Lorenzo Richelmy and Benedict Wong - began in 2014 and consisted of 20 full episodes and one half-length Christmas special.

Netflix's original content chief Cindy Holland said this in a statement:

"We want to thank and are grateful to our

‘Marco Polo’ Canceled By Netflix

‘Marco Polo’ Canceled By Netflix
Netflix has canceled “Marco Polo,” Variety has confirmed. The Weinstein Co.-produced series streamed for two seasons on the digital service.

Originally developed at Starz, “Marco Polo” premiered in 2014, with its second season debuting earlier this year. It becomes one of only a handful of original series to be canceled by Netflix, including “Bloodline,” “Hemlock Grove,” and “Lillyhammer.”

The series starred Lorenzo Richelmy as the titular Italian explorer and Benedict Wong as Kublai Khan. It was also among the more ambitious and costly efforts in the history f the company’s original series. Season one cost a reported $90 million. Production for that first season included a construction crew of 400 and an art department of 160.

In his 2014 review of the first season for Variety, Brian Lowry wrote, “While ‘Marco Polo’ possesses scope, scale and an inordinate amount of exposed skin, the series exhibits only a sporadic pulse. That leaves a property that can be fun taken strictly on
