Traveling with his friend, playwright Charles Klein to London when their ship, the Lusitania, was sunk by a U-boat. Frohman was moderately crippled by a fall some time earlier and found it difficult to walk without assistance or a cane; he declined any effort at rescuing himself in favor of other passengers and gave his life belt to another passenger. Both men died in the sinking. See more »
