Savannah Guthrie, co-anchor of NBC's Today show, will begin her maternity leave Friday as she prepares to give birth to her second child. She and husband Michael Feldman are expecting a baby boy, who will be a little brother to their daughter Vale, 2. "I'm going to go on my maternity leave after tomorrow," Guthrie told co-stars Willie Geist, Al Roker and Carson Daly on the Today show Thursday. "And so all of you who have been saying, 'Please stop...we've seen enough,' there will be no live birth on the Today show. Tomorrow's my last day." "I can't believe you've made it this far," Daly said....

Savannah Guthrie Announces Baby No. 2's Sex on Today

Savannah Guthrie Announces Baby No. 2's Sex on Today
Savannah Guthrie is painting her nursery blue. The Today anchor revealed Monday that her second child will be a boy. In June, Guthrie announced that she is expecting a second child with her husband, media consultant Michael Feldman. The couple wed in March 2014, and daughter Vale Feldman arrived five months later. In the show's 8:00 hour, Today tested whether a person can tell if a woman is expecting a boy or a girl simply by looking at her belly—and using Guthrie as its test subject. Prior to filming the segment, Guthrie had disclosed the sex to co-anchor Matt Lauer. Colleagues Carson Daly, Willie Geist, Hoda Kotb and Al Roker predicted she was expecting a boy. "I desperately want to teach him to play...

Rip Garry Marshall

  • TheMovieBit
Happy Days. Overboard. Beaches. Pretty Woman. Garry Marshall had a hand in all of these, and it’s with a heavy heart that I report the legendary filmmaker and creator has passed away at the age of 81 due to complications of pneumonia following a stroke. Born in The Bronx in November of 1934, Marshall’s career began as a joke writer for comedians Joey Bishop and Phil Foster, before landing a gig writing for The Tonight Show. This got his foot in the door in the world of television, working on the like of The Joey Bishop Show, The Dick Van Dyke Show, and The Lucy Show, before creating his first t.v. show with Jerry Belson, Hey, Landlord, in 1966. His first contribution to popular culture came in 1974 when he created sitcom Happy Days, which led to two more Marshall created sitcoms, Laverne and Shirley and Mork & Mindy. Having previously had

Joan Rivers Dies at 81

Joan Rivers Dies at 81
Raunchy, gravelly-voiced and self-deprecating comedian Joan Rivers, who rose from Greenwich Village standup to occasional host of “The Tonight Show” and star of TV’s “Fashion Police,” died Thursday after going into cardiac arrest during a medical procedure on Sept. 3. She was 81.

“She passed peacefully at 1:17pm surrounded by family and close friends,” her daughter, Melissa, said in a statement. “My mother’s greatest joy in life was to make people laugh. Although that is

difficult to do right now, I know her final wish would be that we return to laughing soon.”

Rivers had been admitted to New York’s Mt. Sinai hospital after she stopped breathing during a procedure on her vocal cords at a New York Clinic, and was placed in a medically-induced coma to assess her condition.

A petite blonde firebrand, the always-wry Rivers, known for the catchphrase “Can we talk?,” was a pioneering confessional female comic,

Best Baseball Movies To See Before The World Series

“The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it’s a part of our past, Ray. It reminds us of all that once was good and it could be again.” – Field Of Dreams.

No truer words were ever spoken about America’s Pastime. Baseball began this past Spring with 30 teams vying for the chance to become World Champions and now it’s been decided. The San Francisco Giants and Detroit Tigers will play ball in the 2012 World Series. Before the final hurrah of nine innings, stats, bases and 3 strikes you’re out, Wamg has compiled a list of the Best Baseball Movies. Did we leave any in the dugout or are there some that should be sent to the showers?

Steve Martin DVD unearthes wild and crazy hidden treasures -- Exclusive Video

Steve Martin DVD unearthes wild and crazy hidden treasures -- Exclusive Video
Steve Martin has been making people laugh so hard for so long that some — especially younger audiences — might not fully appreciate just how pure and fresh his early comic work was. Before the Oscars, before Father of the Bride, before Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, even before The Jerk, Martin was a total force of nature whose main platform was television, beginning with writing for the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. In his wild and crazy prime, an appearance by Martin on Johnny Carson or other primetime showcase was insane, yet so carefully crafted. When he hosted Saturday Night Live or had a stand-up special,

America's funniest man

America's funniest man
He describes himself as a regular guy, but according to friends and fellow Frat Packers he's anything but. On the eve of his latest film, Dinner For Schmucks, Hollywood's most sought-after comedy actor wonders what all the fuss is about…

It doesn't matter how many drugs they take, or Malawian orphans they adopt, or arcane but fashionable religions they profess, Hollywood actors always claim to be "ordinary". Average. Just like you and me. Point a microphone at them and generally they can project, at will, an aura of perfect suburban normality.

But then, it's what they've been trained to do. Like beagles. Or those workers in Indian call centres who can recount the plot of EastEnders[/link] without having ever actually seen it. Leonardo DiCaprio, when I interviewed him, did not, for example, suggest he was about to go out on what the Daily Mirror called a "nine-hour booze bender" involving

An Exciting ‘Date Night’

An Exciting ‘Date Night’
Date Night

The Data Night extravaganza of Claire and Phil Foster, a suburban New Jersey couple, can be summed up as algedonic and well, somewhat romantic too. The movie starring the two comic juggernauts of television, Steve Carell and Tina Fey, boasts abundant action, excitement and suspense. It is an exceedingly delightful saga of a normal and unassuming couple whose romantic life is at a standstill and the sizzle of their marriage gone; they decide to hit a fancy restaurant in downtown New York to mend their fractured quotidian existence. But the landscape of their ordinary fate takes an uncanny turn when the Fosters are mistaken for another couple – Mr. and Mrs. Tripplehorn – and there begins an amusing odyssey involving corrupt officials, wild car rides, strip club dancing drive, a flash drive and a shirtless Mark Wahlberg as Holbrooke who reluctantly assists them in their pursuit to get through the dusky intact.
