Deborah Smith Ford was born in Sodus, New York and lived on an apple farm in Wolcott. She was born
Deborah Jean Smith to Richard Charles Smith, a chemical engineer turned apple farmer. Her father was
of English-Dutch descent. Ford's mother is Betty Jane (born Betty Jane Pike) and is of English-Irish-Scottish descent.
Ford's interest in acting began in theatre in the 1960s. During that same decade Ford attended college and began working full-time as a certified dental assistant for Dr. Archie Meekins in Bradenton, Florida.
In the 1970s, Ford's acting career was put on hold in order to continue her formal education and begin a family. In 1974, she married Alton Ford, DVM. She and her husband settled in SW Florida owning and operating a veterinary practice, South Trail Animal Hospital. They raised daughters Courtney (Courtney Ford Baldwin) and Leah (Leah Ford Groveman).
In 1988, Ford obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She continued her studies in the areas of communications and acting at the University of South Florida and Florida SouthWestern State College.
By the late 1980s, Ford and her husband worked part time as volunteer missionaries with World Concern. They worked mostly in Kenya, Africa and Honduras.
In the 1990s, Ford worked as a lifestyle model and continued her acting training that led to film and television. She's known nationally and internationally as celebrity and character lookalikes. Ford's most popular look is that of Trinity from the Matrix films.
Ford has received various entertainment awards among those are 2019 Woman of Distinction in Creative Arts, 2019-2020 Story Monsters Ink awards for books in her book series Allie's Adventures (AlliesAdventures.com, StoryMonsters.com). She won multiple awards for her portrayal of Bebe in the film Miss Bonita Springs 1967 (2017).
Current film, TV and music projects include Listen Like its Gospel, S.O.L.I.S., Love Song and Power, Fostering Dad and Every Second Counts. Ford has been honored for her work with United Film & Television Artists (UFTA.us). She continues to be active with UFTA, a not for profit organization.
One of Ford's main interests is in writing. She's authored Allie's Adventures Book Series. As of 2021, six books were published with two in production. In addition, Ford writes short stories for Kindle Vella.
