Sheila Florance was born on July 24, 1916 in St. Kilda East, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia as Sheila Mary Florance. She was an actress, known for Prisoner: Cell Block H (1979), Mad Max (1979) and A Woman's Tale (1991). She was married to Jan (John) Adam Balawaider and Roger Lightfoot Oyston. She died on October 12, 1991 in Melbourne.

Australian actress. Died of cancer in Melbourne, Australia at age 75, 9 days after winning Australian Film Institute's Best Actress award for A Woman's Tale (1991), a film where she played a woman dying of cancer.
Mother of Susan, Peter Oyston and Phillip Oyston. Her granddaughter by Peter is the opera soprano Dominique Oyston. Another grandchild is Stephen Oyston.
Started acting around 1932, living in England between 1934 and 1948, before returning to Australia where she continued to perform until her death.
Best known for her role of Lizzie Birdsworth in Prisoner.
