Did You Know?

Square-jawed, balding British character actor who usually played authority figures and men of integrity. In his youth he was briefly active on the Stock Exchange before training at RADA for an acting career. Began on stage in 1922, in films ten years later. His best spell was from the mid-'40s, notably as Dr. Fenton in The Fallen Idol (1948) and Squire Trelawney in Treasure Island (1950).
