Todd Felderstein is the resident artist at the Actors Studio West (Director Member). He manages a directing career in film and theatre and is a 2024-25 NEXT Fellow at The Braid.
Todd's current project is the international sensation "Way of the Peaceful Warrior," which he is bringing to the live stage. It is being workshopped in Los Angeles before turning to New York audiences.
Both narrative and nonfiction productions have premiered in global festivals from Cannes to Los Angeles. An early writing contract was with Sony TV where he was on the team that brought Neil Patrick Harris's animated "Spider-Man" to the small screen. He made the award-winning feature documentary "Magics" (Amazon Prime) which profiled the Israeli/Palestinian conflict during the Second Intifada through the eyes of a medical magician. The pandemic inspired Todd to create the digital theatre Smartphone Theatre, which produced over 50 original digital shows, amassing a worldwide audience in the thousands. He had the great fortune to have online conversations with such stars at Alan Arkin, Mark Rydell, Asaad Kelada while creating alongside Susan Sullivan, David Selby, Robert Hays, Stan Davis, Jack Kehler and many other legends from Broadway to Hollywood. Todd's music nonfiction features Grammy award-winning artists and music legends: Booker T., Sterling Radcliffe, Ray Parker, Jr., Preston Glass, Rufus, John (JR) Robinson, Bobby Watson, Michael Thompson, and many others. Notable producing accolades include "Emerging Filmmaker" from the Cannes Film Festival.
Originally from Rochester, NY, the birthplace of Kodak, Todd moved to Baltimore, MD at a very young age where his obsession with the camera was unleashed. Todd spent countless hours splitting his time between the darkroom and the movie screen as a child. Relocating to Los Angeles shortly after graduation from the University of Maryland, Todd's career blossomed as a commercial and portrait photographer while directing stage and independent cinema. Todd remains true to his professional photography passions to this day, where you can often find his work in solo and group shows. He conducts workshops at the Los Angeles Center of Photography and Samy's Camera.
