Gina Carano, Richard Dreyfuss and Brendan Fehr cast in action thriller Daughter of the Wolf

Gina Carano (Fast & Furious 6) will be starring in the action thriller Daughter of the Wolf alongside Richard Dreyfuss (Jaws) and Brendan Fehr (Roswell) in the lead roles.

The news comes as principal photography begins production on the film with David Hackl (Saw V) directing from a script by Nika Agiashvili (A Green Story).

Rounding out the cast are Anton Gillis-Adelman (Designated Survivor) and Sydelle Noel (Glow). The synopsis for the film is:

Ex-military specialist, Clair Hamilton, returns home from her tour in the Middle East to the recent news of her father’s passing only to find herself at odds with her defiant 13-year-old son, Charlie. Hot on the heels of the previous announcement of five new cast members to the reboot of Roswell, it has been revealed that Vampire Diaries alum Michael Trevino will also be joining the cast. The TV show is a reboot of the cult classic original of the same name that was based on a ten book series by Melinda Metz called Roswell High. The original show, starring then relative unknowns Shiri ApplebyKatherine Heigl, Colin Hanks, Adam Rodriguez, Emilie de Ravin, Majandra Delfino, Nick Wechsler, Brendan Fehr and Jason Behr, ran on the WB and then later Upn for three years, beginning in 1999.

Remember the Roswell reboot that was eyed at The CW just a few months ago?

Well, it just got one step closer to becoming a reality. According to Deadline, the young-skewing network has ordered a pilot.

The official logline reads, "After reluctantly returning to her tourist-trap hometown of Roswell, New Mexico, the daughter of undocumented immigrants discovers a shocking truth about her teenage crush who is now a police officer: he’s an alien who has kept his unearthly abilities hidden his entire life."

"She protects his secret as the two reconnect and begin to investigate his origins, but when a violent attack and long-standing government cover-up point to a greater alien presence on Earth, the politics of fear and hatred threaten to expose him and destroy their deepening romance."

‘The Night Shift’ Canceled by NBC After Four Seasons
The show with perhaps the best key art (or at least, the cheesiest) in all of television is coming to an end. “The Night Shift” won’t be back for a fifth season, NBC announced Friday.

“We want to thank our amazing creators and executive producers, Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah, for their dedication and stellar work; a cast and crew that were second to none; and the city of Albuquerque, N.M., which graciously opened its arms to us,” said Jennifer Salke, President, NBC Entertainment. “For four seasons ‘The Night Shift’ gave audiences a window to heroic doctors, nurses and all-star medical workers who never hesitated to give their blood, sweat and time to help those most in need.”

The CW is developing Roswell reboot

Roswell will be returning to television as The CW has decided to reboot the sci-fi series. The network will develop the reboot with The Original’s Carina Adly MacKenzie executive producing and writing the series.

Roswell originally ran for three seasons, with the first two airing on The WB before moving to Upn for its final season from 1999 – 2002. It starred Shiri Appleby, Jason Behr, Katherine Heigl, Brendan Fehr, Emilie de Ravin, Majandra Delfino, Nick Wechsler, Colin Hanks, Adam Rodriguez and William Sadler.

Joining MacKenzie to produce the series is Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Lawrence Bender and Kevin Kelly Brown. Brown was also an executive producer on the original series. There’s no word yet on whether this new series will be a full reboot or a sequel to the original.
