Guitarist with the 1970s Industrial band Throbbing Gristle until their split in 1981. After Throbbing Gristle's split she formed a duo with fellow TG member and her real-life partner Chris Carter called Chris & Cosey, who have also recorded under the aliases Carter Tutti and CTI. She is the second daughter of Dennis Newby and Winifred Magueritte Guard.
