  • Trivia
Merie Earle was scheduled to make her Broadway debut at age 88 in the revival of Paul Zindel's Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds. Earle broke her hip during the pre-Broadway run in La Jolla. The show opened in March 1978. Although she didn't make it to Broadway, her name appears on the poster for the play along with those of Shelley Winters and Carol Kane. (Shayd)
