Best remembered as the late Ted Knight's wife on the hit TV sitcom Too Close for Comfort (1980).

I think the role did pigeonhole me for awhile, to the point where many people never realized I could sing. That was always very odd to me, 'cause I always thought of myself as a singer. But it was all right, because whatever helped me get a job was just fine ... whether that job was acting on a sitcom or singing on Broadway. -- ND, reflecting on her wifely role in "Too Close for Comfort"
