- At Rollins, he created the officer position of 'Story Teller' in his fraternity. According to the national office of Phi Delta Theta, this was the 1st & only office of its kind ever in the fraternity's 160 year history.
- Attended Rollins College whose alumni include Anthony Perkins, Patrick Wilson, Takayo Fischer, John Glenn Harding, Ellie Cornell, & Hunt Lowry.
- Attended Saint Andrew's School where he overcame a series of obstacles in his senior year and won the school's Perseverance Award. He applies those perseverance lessons to the film industry.
- Attended Camp Deerwood, whose other alumni include Christopher Reeve & Charlie Hewson.
- Scott's other grandfather served on the board of directors for E. I. du Pont de Nemours & Co. which sponsored the The DuPont Show of the Month (1957) on CBS nominated for 12 Emmy Awards.
- Scott's grandfather was one of the primary investors for 'South Pacific', which won 10 Tony Awards.
