Tim Allen playing the bad guy is not what we've come to expect. For decades, Allen embodied the quintessential suburban dad while grunting through home improvement mishaps on television. He also voiced one of the most recognizable animated characters ever known and loved, Buzz Lightyear. But there was a moment in Allen's career when he flipped the script for 2008's mixed martial arts (Mma) movieRedbelt, written and directed by David Mamet, a clever wordsmith known for Glengarry Glen Ross, American Buffalo, and other acclaimed plays and films.
Typically, Allen portrays the warm protagonist, slightly flawed but good-natured. That's not to say he hasn't played characters with more of an edge in a few works, such as Jason Nesmith in Galaxy Quest and the profane losers Eliot Arnold in Big Trouble and Larry Roth in El Camino Christmas. But Redbelt is the only time he played a conniving villain. Allen's cynical,...

David Ayer fans are currently looking forward to his Beekeeper reunion with Jason Statham on A Working Man. However, a new audience is currently discovering the director’s panned 2014 action movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger in one of his more forgotten movies. Sabotage is at the top of the streaming chart on Starz, the latest in a long line of mostly forgotten action movies that have found new life on streaming.
Ayer made his name with gritty action movies like Training Day, but also dipped his toes in something more fantastical with 2016’s Suicide Squad, and last year found huge success with The Beekeeper, both in cinemas and on Prime Video. Sabotage was not a success by any stretch of the imagination when it was released, landing just a 21% Rotten Tomatoes score from critics and ending its theatrical run on $22 million, which was substantially below its $35 million budget.

People massively underestimate Arnold Schwarzeneggers acting abilities; hes proven with movies like Maggie and The Terminator that hes not just a one-note action hero. Schwarzenegger started out as a bodybuilder before making the transition to acting, and as with anyone who comes to acting from another field whether that field is music, wrestling, or something else his dramatic capabilities have been consistently underrated. Theres a misconception that Schwarzenegger plays the same character in every movie, like Dwayne The Rock Johnson, but thats simply not true. Schwarzenegger has played all kinds of roles, from a killer cyborg to a pregnant man.
Schwarzenegger certainly has a familiar on-screen persona that can be seen in a lot of his action movies, like Commando and The Expendables saga, and that on-screen persona is a lot of fun to watch. But hes shown time and time again that hes capable of so much more than that.

Legendary Entertainment is developing a Pacific Rim prequel TV series in collaboration with Eric Heisserer. The show will extend the Pacific Rim universe, focusing on the prequel story without revealing the plot yet. Although a Pacific Rim 3 movie remains uncertain, the TV series suggests the franchise's storytelling transition towards television.
The Pacific Rim universe is expanding through a new prequel series. Pacific Rim was originally a 2013 film directed by Guillermo del Toro, featuring a leading cast including Idris Elba, Charlie Hunnam, Rinko Kikuchi, Burn Gorman, Charlie Day, and Max Martini. The plot focuses on a war between humans and massive kaiju sea creatures that begin to take over, and was followed up by the poorly-reviewed film Pacific Rim: Uprising.

13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi ranks as the #9 most popular movie on Netflix for the week of Nov. 6–12. The Michael Bay movie clocked 4.1 million total views, beating Cold Pursuit's 3.4 million, but falling short of Deep Fear's 4.3 million. The movie divided audiences and critics, and ultimately underperformed at the box office. It currently ranks as Bay's second-lowest grossing movie.
13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi has become a Netflix hit 7 years after its release. Based on real events, the Michael Bay film chronicles an American security team's conflict with insurgents after the storming of a U.S. compound in Libya. The film, which stars John Krasinski, James Badge Dale, David Denman, and Pablo Schreiber, grossed only $69.4 million worldwide, making it the second-lowest grossing movie of Bay's career.

13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi accurately depicts the time, location, and outcomes of the 2012 attack that killed four Americans. The movie avoids political controversy by focusing on the heroic actions of the soldiers on the ground, rather than pointing fingers or promoting conspiracy theories. The attacks in Benghazi were not caused by spontaneous protests as initially reported, but were likely a premeditated assault due to the hostile environment in the city.
At the end of 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, Jack Silva and the remaining members of the CIA's military contractor security team successfully evacuate 25 people from the CIA outpost in Benghazi, but how accurate is the movie's depiction of the real-life event? "13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi" is a fact-based film that realistically depicts the 2012 terrorist attack on the US Ambassador to Libya and the brave soldiers who fought back. The Benghazi attack was carried out by Ansar al-Sharia, a Libyan terrorist group, and was later found to be premeditated, not a spontaneous response to a protest. US Ambassador J. Chris Stevens, along with three other Americans, tragically lost their lives during the attack, highlighting the bravery and sacrifice of those who served.
In 2016, Michael Bay directed the biographical action film 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, which tells the true story of a terrorist attack on the US Ambassador to Libya, and the six soldiers that fought back against the militants. In director Guillermo del Toro’s 2013 “monsters vs. mecha” film Pacific Rim (watch it Here), Idris Elba played the character of Marshal Stacker Pentecost, whose most popular scene may be when he gives a crowd-pumping speech that includes the line, “Today we are cancelling the apocalypse!” It’s a great moment that was almost played by another actor, as del Toro has revealed that Tom Cruise was the first choice to play Marshal Stacker Pentecost!
Speaking with Collider, del Toro said, “The two models for Pacific Rim, the two models for the screenplay, are Hoosiers with Gene Hackman and Top Gun. So, the part that Idris Elba plays, Tom Cruise was gonna do it, and I even had a karaoke. The deal couldn’t be made. He wanted to do it. We were developing stuff, and he couldn’t do it. I thought, ‘You know what? Let’s go with Idris Elba then.

Guillermo del Toro has been one of the most beloved filmmakers in all of fandom, and perhaps all of cinema, for the past 30 years. Born in Guadalajara, Mexico, del Toro was fascinated with the fantastical at an early age, turning his childhood obsessions into a long creative career that has celebrated the monstrous, the grotesque, and the otherworldly. His is an aesthetic that gives the macabre with a sense of beauty and poetry.
From the start, del Toro’s passion for horror, science fiction, and fantasy in all their myriad forms—movies, TV, literature, comics, art—came through unapologetically, making him not just seem like he was one of us, a fan, but an uber fan; one of us who got to realize the visions and dreams that sparked inside his imagination. Despite the success of the first Pacific Rim film, the sequel underperformed at the box office and received negative reviews, leading to the cancelation of Pacific Rim 3. Guillermo del Toro, the director of the first film, stepped down from directing the sequel in order to work on his critically acclaimed film, The Shape of Water. While Pacific Rim 3 may not be happening, fans can still enjoy the franchise through the Netflix TV series, Pacific Rim: The Black, which has received positive reviews and spawned a graphic novel prequel.

The drama series’ second season finds Bosch (Titus Welliver) working alongside Honey “Money” Chandler (Mimi Rogers) to track down a masked assailant who kidnapped his daughter Maddie (Madison Lintz) before time runs out. But as the FBI scrutinizes Carl Rogers’ murder, Bosch and Chandler are placed under suspicion.
In the clip, Jerry Edgar (Jamie Hector) tells Bosch that he needs to let authorities do their job to find his daughter, to which he replies: “Don’t cut me out!.” He also makes clear that while the FBI has to do things the “right way,” those rules don’t apply to him.

Thrilling police chases, explosive shootouts, compelling characters, and riveting storylines are all elements that culminate into one of the most exhilarating and high octane sub-genres and movies out there, the bank heist movie. There are few genres that give audiences that 'rush' more than the heist genre. From legendary movies like Heat, the Ocean's quadrilogy, Den of Thieves, and more recently Michael Bay's Ambulance, this phenomenal subgenre is certainly a packed one, and holds some of the best movies and experiences in cinematic history.
Adding to the large roster of bank heist movies, is veteran action director William Kaufman's latest feature, The Channel. The Channel boasts everything that we love about the bank heist movie subgenre. Filled with visceral gun fights and shootouts and thrilling police chases, The Channel is a ton of fun. However, although marketed as a bank heist movie, isn't really about the heist.

Known for his explosive, low-budget action movies like One in the Chamber, The Hit List and Saints and Sinners just to name a few, action director William Kaufman recently sat down with MovieWeb to discuss his upcoming highly anticipated action flick The Channel. Joining Kaufman was one of the film's leads, Max Martini, who many may recognize from films like Michael Bay's 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan, and Prime Video's Tender Bar.
Kaufman, despite his budget, has always delivered on the action, and The Channel is no different. However, what sets The Channel aside from Kaufman's previous work is that the film thrives in its characters. Particularly the brotherly relationship between the two main characters in a compelling and complex story of survival. The action doesn't disappoint and the performances from both Clayne Crawford and Max Martini are astounding.

"You've always wanted a warrior's death..." So why not go out shootin'? Brainstorm Media has revealed an official trailer for The Channel, yet another generic action thriller heading to VOD day-and-date this year. The film is from the same filmmaker who made Warhorse One also out this year - William Kaufman. After their bank heist goes wrong, a desperate criminal, his out-of-control brother, and their motley crew of armed ex-marines must escape New Orleans and the determined FBI agent who is pursuing them. Clayne Crawford and Max Martini star as the two criminals on the run. The cast also includes Nicoye Banks, Juliene Joyner, Todd Jenkins, and Paul Rae. Not only is all this derivative, none of this looks good. One more boring guns vs. feds thrillers, only for those still into this kind of movie. // Continue Reading ›...

Every year, there are some truly exceptional songs featured in motion pictures.
Disney and Bond films are almost always guaranteed nominations from the Academy in the Best Original Song category, often winning (as "No Time To Die" did last year).

Thanks to TikTok, songs released decades ago can emerge into mainstream popularity with ease, often quite unexpectedly. All it usually takes is a viral trend, or the creation of a sped-up version that draws more attention than the original. From there, it becomes a game of capturing the moment. But The Weeknd, whose 2016 single “Die For You” experienced a sudden resurgence over the last year and a half, is working smarter, not harder.
The Weeknd first bolstered the song’s newfound success with an unreleased music video to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Starboy.

Since her breakthrough at the turn of the century, Pink has carved out a niche as one of pop’s most restless real talkers—songs like “Family Portrait,” “Fuckin’ Perfect,” and “Dear Mr. President” have seemed to bubble out of her experiences and ruminations in real time, and the conviction and vocal power with which she delivers them makes them hit harder.
Pink’s ninth album, Trustfall, is named after the plunges people take when they want to test the devotion of those around them—a fitting metaphor for the Pennsylvania-born superstar on multiple levels.

No one puts on a show like P!nk. Just look at last year’s tour, a carnival of flashing lights and giant balloons that culminated each night in the US pop artist somersaulting through the air while suspended on wires. She’s a born ringleader.
Be that as it may, she’s sometimes missed the mark. Second LP Missundaztood, with its merging of DIY punk, garage, hip-hop and R&b asserted her dominance over pop princesses such as Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. But Try This, in 2003, tried too hard to replicate its predecessor’s success. P!nk does best when she makes and breaks her own rules.
Perhaps that’s why Trustfall, her ninth record, falls short. It’s less a kaleidoscope than a clash of influences, with frenetic, thrashy pop-punk competing for attention against characterless dance music. This is P!nk’s latest collaboration with pop guru Max Martin,...
