9 Grey's Anatomy Plot Points That You Can't Forget Over the Summer
I was skeptical that season 14 of Grey's Anatomy would truly be lighthearted, despite what the cast had been saying. Shonda Rhimes's hit drama, after all, is notorious for bomb scares, plane crashes, and ruthless deaths. Plus, we found out halfway through the season that two beloved cast members would leave the show! But this joyful season surprised us with touching moments like Meredith's Harper Avery win and Jo's heartwarming proposal. Still, the writers introduced major game changers in the finale, so we'll definitely encounter some classic Grey's drama come season 15.

Here are the biggest turning points that you should remember from the least sad Grey's season of all time.

1. Amelia Discovers That She Has a Grapefruit-Sized Brain Tumor

Amelia discovers that she has been walking around with a grapefruit-sized tumor for years. Luckily, Dr. Koracick removes the tumor successfully. After her surgery, Amelia realizes that Owen had married her tumor,

Why April's Exit Is the Best-Case Scenario on Grey's Anatomy

Why April's Exit Is the Best-Case Scenario on Grey's Anatomy
Well, we all made it through the Grey's Anatomy finale in one piece. Though we were expecting a lot of drama and even a possible death, we actually ended season 14 on a light note. Yes, this even applies to the dual exits of April and Arizona, which we've been dreading for months. In Arizona's case, the show had been hinting at her move to NYC for weeks, so we knew what to expect going in. For April, it was quite a different story.

As a brief recap, April's life changes after her near-death experience in the penultimate episode of season 14. She decides to quit her job at the hospital because she wants to serve God and help others. It's a much more personal journey, and it aligns with the renewed sense of faith she finds in the episodes leading up to her goodbye.

That's a wrap for Jessica Capshaw! The blonde beauty is officially leaving Grey's Anatomy now that Season 14 is over (along with her co-star Sarah Drew) — and Shonda Rhimes said goodbye to the beloved character in the sweetest way. Arizona decided she will be leaving Grey Sloan Memorial Hosptial to move her rebellious daughter Sofia back to New York to be with her mom and Arizonas ex-wife Callie Torres (who used to be played by Sara Ramirez). During the Season 14 finale, Arizona even hinted to Richard Webber (played by James Pickens Jr.) that she smiles every time Callie texts her, leading many die-hard Grey's fans to think that the two end up together. Ratings: ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 14 Finale Bids Farewell to April and Arizona, Tops Thursday

Ratings: ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 14 Finale Bids Farewell to April and Arizona, Tops Thursday
“Grey’s Anatomy” grew week-to-week with its Season 14 finale on Thursday, when the Shondaland show’s farewell to April (Sarah Drew) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) was the No. 1 show of the night. Fortunately for the ABC medical drama, CBS sitcom “The Big Bang Theory” concluded its own run last week, and ABC claimed the top spot in primetime’s core demo this time around.

Even without its biggest comedy, CBS still finished first last night in terms of total viewers. At 10 p.m., the network’s “S.W.A.T.” season finale topped its time slot, which also included ABC’s latest “What Would You Do?” premiere.

ABC was the evening’s runner-up in overall eyeballs; CBS ran second in the key 18-49 demographic.

'Grey's Anatomy' Sent off April Kepner in the Sweetest Way

It's safe to say that Grey's Anatomy fans are still in shock over the news that Sarah Drew (who plays April Kepner) is exiting the series now that Season 14 is officially over. Viewers met the doctor when she began working at the now renamed Seattle Grace-Mercy West Hospital during Season 6. A once insecure (and semi annoying) surgical resident blossomed into a fierce trauma surgeon. So, why does a fan-favorite character like April Kepner have to leave the series? Grey's doesn't have the best track record of giving their characters happy goodbyes. So, naturally fans were worried that the red-headed doc would be killed off similarly to say, Lexie Grey, Mark Sloan, or the 8325729 other docs Shonda Rhimes has killed while running the hit show — especially after the episode before the finale. However, she fortunately ended up making it out alive! (Photo Credit: Getty Images) During the series finale on Thursday,
