Bad CGI Gator intentionally pokes fun at films with poor digital effects, but still manages to technically work. The movie uses lighting and depth of field effectively, proving that it isn't amateurish in its badness. VFX artists appreciate the intentional choices made in the film, making it surprisingly enjoyable despite its shortcomings.
The ironically titled horror film Bad CGI Gator gets a surprisingly positive review from VFX artists. Directed by Danny Draven, the movie follows college students who inadvertently create a dangerous and predatory CG alligator while vacationing in Georgia's swampland. The cast includes Maddie Lane, Michael Bonini, Ben VanderMey, and Rebecca Stoughton. Released back in November, Bad CGI Gator was produced by Full Moon Features, the same company that made headlines for turning the phenomenon of "Barbenheimer" into an upcoming movie.
In Corridor Crew's latest video, VFX artists looked at Bad CGI Gator and gave positive feedback regarding the movie's antagonistic creature.

Since The Asylum doesn’t have something to release at the moment, Full Moon Pictures has graciously stepped up and given us Bad CGI Gator. With a self-referential title designed to deflect criticism of its shortcomings, I really can’t say I was expecting much, and maybe because I had such low expectations, I was pleasantly surprised.
Somewhere in Georgia, a group of friends, Sam, Hope, Chad, Sarah, Pearce and Paisley are planning a Spring Break blowout.
Those plans include tossing their school laptops into the lake for a video they hope will go viral. Instead, it somehow transforms a tiny alligator into a huge, hungry beast. And it’s not just huge, it’s somehow been granted the powers of bad CGI such as the ability to move without touching the ground,...

Sharknado, Slither, Eight Legged Freaks, Piranha… movie history is saturated with ridiculous creature-features featuring extra-large monsters wreaking havoc, with most modern iterations plagued by bad CGI… Well now comes Bad CGI Gator from writer Zalman Band, director Danny Draven and Full Moon Features – who are taking this pop culture phenomenon and well… poking fun at it!
Six college grads on Spring Break get a cabin in the swamplands of Georgia. Once there, they decide to throw their school laptops in a backyard lake in an act of youthful defiance, which unknowingly turns a lurking alligator into the dreaded and insatiable… Bad CGI Gator!
Says Charles Band, CEO & Founder Of Full Moon Features:
I’ve long been against the overuse of CGI in genre films, and in many ways, this movie is a fun, tongue-in-cheek antidote to that. When done right, CGI is a great tool to accent special effects. When done wrong…...

Russell T Davies' reboot of Doctor Who in 2005 introduced memorable and in-depth character arcs, resonating with audiences. The return of David Tennant as the Fourteenth Doctor in the upcoming 60th anniversary special has sparked speculation about how it will impact the Doctor's characterization and timeline. Characters like Adam Mitchell, Alonso Frame, Harriet Jones, Mickey Smith, and Wilfred Mott have all played significant roles in the Doctor's adventures, showcasing their own personal growth and loyalty.
With Russell T Davies entering his second Doctor Who era, audiences will be aware of some of the phenomenal character arcs previously introduced. Davies' rebooted Doctor Who in 2005, introducing Christopher Eccleston as the Ninth Doctor and Billie Piper as Rose Tyler and the classic show regained its prominent position on British television screens. The Last Great Time War is a major event in Doctor Who history, with massive ramifications on the universe and the Doctor's life. The Time Lords' absence after the war led to another conflict to determine who would control the time stream, involving the Cybermen and the Sontarans. The Union emerged as the victor of the war, but their methods are questioned by the Doctor, who is unimpressed with their ability to police time.
In the Doctor Who canon, the fallout from the Last Great Time War led to another brutal and bloody conflict, one not seen on television. Although it largely happened off-camera, the Last Great Time War is one of the biggest events in the franchise’s 60-year history, a massive, universe-spanning war between the Time Lords and the Daleks. Yet, in Doctor Who: The Ninth Doctor #4, published by Titan Comics, fans learn the Last Great Time War...

Holiday specials have become a cherished tradition on modern Doctor Who. Established in 2005's "The Christmas Invasion," which served as David Tennant's first full episode as the Tenth Doctor, Doctor Who went on to claim a coveted Christmas Day slot every year from then until 2017. While the more recent seasons under showrunner Chris Chibnall have continued the tradition, they have moved the holiday specials from Christmas to New Year's.
Different writers have taken different approaches to Doctor Who's holiday specials. Some have been typical alien-fighting Doctor Who epics with Christmas-themed additions, such as Robot Santas and killer Christmas trees. Others have taken the opportunity to tell more uplifting and festive Doctor Who stories; while some of the New Year's specials have placed very little emphasis on the holiday setting at all.

This article contains spoilers for "Good Omens" season 2.
There's a lot of overlap between the "Good Omens" and "Doctor Who" fanbases. After all, Crowley is played by David Tennant, the same guy who played (and is now playing again) the time-traveling alien Doctor. If that wasn't enough, "Good Omens" also co-stars Michael Sheen as Aziraphale, an actor who played the malevolent alien House in the "Doctor Who" episode "The Doctor's Wife." That episode was written by Neil Gaiman, co-creator and showrunner of "Good Omens." Director Douglas MacKinnon has also worked on both shows.
"Good Omens" season 2 takes the connections between the shows even further. Peter Davison, who played the fifth Doctor back in 1982, shows up here to play the biblical figure Job. Job's son, Ennon, is played by David Tennant's real-life son, Ty Tennant, who also happens to be Peter Davison's grandson. The fly Beelzebub gives Gabriel is described as "bigger on the inside,...

The Doctor Who comics closed the plot hole of the 11th Doctor’s weirdest ability. Across the franchise’s 60-year history, the Doctor has demonstrated a number of cool abilities, ones far beyond most species. Indeed, during the 11th Doctor’s tenure, he demonstrated the ability to talk to animals. In Doctor Who: The Ninth Doctor #4, first published by Titan Comics, readers learn how the Doctor acquired this neat ability.
Doctor Who: The Ninth Doctor #4 was written by Cavan Scott and drawn by Blair Shedd. In the issue, the Ninth Doctor, Rose and Jack Harkness have run afoul of the Union, a race that have appointed themselves guardians of the time stream, replacing the Time Lords after the Last Great Time War. The Union’s actions have caused cracks to open in space and time, allowing multiple eras to exist simultaneously, and the end result will be the annihilation of the universe.

Say what you will about the output of Full Moon, but at least the low budget genre company has never gotten into the trend of having crappy-looking CGI animals rampage across the screen. The market is packed with movies that feature sharks, alligators, crocodiles, and other toothy creatures that were made with subpar CGI. And now Full Moon is set to satirize movies like that with their horror comedy Bad CGI Gator, which is scheduled to start filming in Georgia next month.

Animal attack creature features are often marred by bad CGI, but what if that becomes the central conceit for a satirical horror feature? Expect Full Moon Features to lean into it in a massive way in the upcoming gory horror comedy Bad CGI Gator.
Bloody Disgusting can exclusively reveal the poster for the creature feature. Something tells us that Bad CGI Gator will more than live up to its title.
The tongue-in-cheek tagline, “Terror, rendered too cheaply…” says it all.

The new era of Doctor Who will see Bonnie Langford return as classic companion, Melanie "Mel" Bush. The BBC recently confirmed that Langford would be reprising her role in 2024's Season 14, opposite Ncuti Gatwa's Fifteenth Doctor. Langford first portrayed Mel opposite Colin Baker's Sixth Doctor in 1986's "The Trial of a Time Lord," and later served as the full-time companion of Sylvester McCoy's Seventh Doctor in Season 24. This isn't the first time returning showrunner Russell T Davies has brought back a companion from Doctor Who's classic era, nor is it the first time a classic companion has returned in recent years.
Given the growing precedent for classic series stars to remain involved with the series, Mel's return could well open the door to other companions coming back. Of course, with a bold new era on the horizon, companions such as Mel might be coming back for more than just Doctor Who.

Doctor Who has confirmed another season 14 casting and the mysterious villain hints at a Torchwood twist. Ncuti Gatwa will become the famous Time Lord in season 14 of Doctor Who, with Millie Gibson by his side as the first companion. Jodie Whittaker’s era ended with the shock twist of the Doctor regenerating back into the Tenth Doctor’s face. David Tennant and Catherine Tate will both return as the Doctor and Donna Noble for the 60th anniversary specials before the baton is handed over to Gatwa. As new trailers have dropped for the special, excitement for the new era of Doctor Who is building.

The Doctor rarely travels without a companion, and there’s a reason why Doctor Who always makes them human companions. Doctor Who was revived by the BBC in 2005, ensuring to continue many of the classic tropes fans loved so much about the original. Christopher Eccleston became the new face of the Ninth Doctor and audiences were able to explore the Time Lord’s world once again, bringing back old villains such as the Daleks and Cybermen. Doctor Who was able to reinvent the program to avoid excluding audiences and stay fresh while interspersing much of classic Doctor Who’s lore, to add depth and build on canon.
Since the revival, Doctor Who’s cast has seen many faces, and not just the Doctor's. Rose Tyler became the Doctor’s first companion and stayed with the Doctor well into David Tennant’s reign as Ten. Rose has also reappeared multiple times,...

2023 marks the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who and the return of Russell T. Davies as the series showrunner, both of which have caused a resurgence of fan interest in the sci-fi classic. While there is plenty of content in the original show, with nearly 900 episodes between the classic series and the revival, the spin-offs are also worth watching. It's a great (and somewhat confusing) time to be a Whovian. Although Ncuti Gatwa has been announced as the next Doctor, and Millie Gibson's been announced as the next companion, these are not the main characters we'll be following as we head into the 60th Anniversary Specials. Instead, those three special episodes will be focused on the return of the Tenth Doctor (David Tennant), who is now technically the Fourteenth Doctor too. There's also the return of Donna Noble to look out for, as well as the return of the old showrunner Russell T. Davies, who ran the revival show from seasons 1 through 4.
The one thing we know for sure is that, when those specials are over, we will get a regular season with Gatwa and Gibson. With Davies sticking around as showrunner, you'd think it'd be safe to say that most of the returning characters would be from those early seasons.
