Exclusive: Kevin Conroy explains why Batman: Mask of the Phantasm is the best Batman movie

Last week Flickering Myth’s Amon Warmann was lucky enough to chat with legendary Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy about the latest instalment in the DC Universe Animated Original Movies line Batman and Harley Quinn. During the discussion, they also spoke about their favourite Batman movie – 1993’s Batman: Mask of the Phantasm.

Amon Warmann: My favourite Batman movie – animated or otherwise – is Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. What are your memories of working on that?

Kevin Conroy: I agree with you – I think that is the best Batman movie, live action or animated. You get the whole genesis of the Batman story in that one film. And then you’ve got the drama, falling in love with Andrea Beaumont, wanting to have a normal life, pleading with his parents grave to release him from the vow and then realising he’s doomed to avenge their deaths. He’s trapped in his fate.

Exclusive: Kevin Conroy on the Batman stories he’d like to see adapted as animated movies

Kevin Conroy has been lending his voice to the Dark Knight for 25 years now, appearing in everything from Batman: The Animated Series to the acclaimed Arkham video games and a host of animated features, including last year’s Batman: The Killing Joke and this month’s Batman and Harley Quinn, which reunites him with Batman: Tas co-creator Bruce Timm.

Flickering Myth’s Amon Warmann was lucky enough to speak to Kevin this past week to discuss Batman and Harley Quinn, during which he revealed that there are still several iconic Batman stories he’d like to tick off his bucket list.

You’ve been voicing the character for so long and we’ve seen him in so many different situations. Is there anything you still want to explore with the character?

There’s stories I still want to do. Hush would be cool. Death in the Family would be cool.

Video Game Review – Batman: The Enemy Within – Episode 1 ‘The Enigma’

Shaun Munro reviews Batman: The Enemy Within – Episode 1 ‘The Enigma’…

After Telltale’s first episodic adventure series starring Batman turned out to be a bit of a mixed bag – plagued by rampant technical issues across platforms and some questionable story elements – it’s a pleasure to report that the developer seems to have pulled their socks up for season two, at least if this mostly enthralling, content-rich season premiere is any indication.

Following on from the shocking events of the first season, Batman now finds himself facing off against a new enemy terrorising Gotham City in The Riddler (voiced with manic aplomb by Robin Atkin Downes), a genius trickster who ensnares the Caped Crusader in a series of challenges, both mental and physical, like he’s never faced before.

On top of this, Bats will also have to contend with the re-emergence of his former Arkham Asylum pal John Doe

Kevin Conroy says Ben Affleck is the best Batman

Voice actor Kevin Conroy is considered by many to be the definitive Dark Knight through his work on Batman: The Animated Series and numerous DC animated series and movies. But who does he consider to be the best Batman? Well, in an interview with Comic Book Resources to promote the new animated feature Batman and Harley Quinn, Conroy shared his thoughts on the various live action incarnations of the Caped Crusader.

“Are there other Batmen that I don’t do? I haven’t heard of one,” joked Conroy. “Yeah, I see them. You know, I thought it was weird when Warner Bros. didn’t give the franchise to one actor when the first started doing the films. You just assumed they were going to cast a Batman and he was going to carry the whole franchise. But then when I saw the different ones — Michael Keaton and Val Kilmer, George Clooney,

The Joker and Riddler Were Almost in ‘Batman v Superman,’ Says Zack Snyder

The Joker and Riddler Were Almost in ‘Batman v Superman,’ Says Zack Snyder
Lex Luthor and Doomsday are ready to wreak havoc in the highly anticipated “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” but the movie also almost featured two additional famous DC supervillains.

Director Zack Snyder said in a recent interview with Collider that “the Joker and the Riddler both came close to being in this movie.”

“We talked about the possibility of putting them in,” he went on. “[Screenwriter] Chris Terrio and I talked about it a lot and felt that their mythological presence is felt in the movie, and that’s cool, but I didn’t want to get my eye too far off the ball because I needed to spend the time, frankly, with Batman and Superman to understand the conflict.”

Jesse Eisenberg will play Luthor in “Batman v Superman,” with Robin Atkin Downes providing the voice and motion capture for Doomsday. Jared Leto will make his debut as the Joker
