Horror Channel FrightFest announces line-up for Halloween 2017 event

Horror Channel FrightFest has announced its lineup for the 7th annual West End Halloween chillorama, an all-day shocktoberfest at the Empire Haymarket on Sat October 28th 2017, which this year features one world, one European and five UK premieres.

“After FrightFest’s successful return to central London in August for our biggest and most acclaimed event yet, we’re pleased to announce our equally ambitious, and extended Halloween spooktacular,” said Alan Jones, FrightFest co-director. “The line-up is a heady cocktail of horror, fantasy and sci-fi, which we hope haunts your nightmares until our Glasgow grindhouser next March”.

FrightFest Halloween 2017 line-up announced

The line-up for this years Horror Channel FrightFest Halloween 2017 event has just been announced and features seven choice shockers for the 7th annual West End Halloween event. This year, the all-day shocktoberfest is at the Empire Haymarket on Saturday October 28th and embraces one world, one European and five UK premieres, spanning three continents… And what a selection! The latest film from Lawrie Brewster (Lord of Tears); the UK premiere of Beyond Skyline And the UK premiere of It Came From the Desert!, the giant ant movie based on the classic Cinemaware video game!

Director scores two Adg Awards nominations

Matt Saville has been nominated in two categories at the 2015 Australian Directors Guild Awards, for his feature Felony and an episode of Josh Thomas. ABC-tv comedy Please Like Me.

The other nominees in the feature film category are Sophie Hyde for 52 Tuesdays, Jennifer Kent for The Babadook and Robert Connolly for Paper Planes.

There are two nominees for Rake for TV drama series: Jessica Hobbs and Rowan Woods. Also in the running are Shawn Seet for The Code, Geoff Bennett for Love Child and Kevin Carlin for Wentworth.

Kate Dennis and Peter Salmon are both nominated for Secrets & Lies in the TV miniseries category, together with Tony Krawitz (Devil.s Playground). and Ian Watson (Anzac Girls).

The telemovie award is a toss-up between Samantha Lang for Carlotta and Jeffrey Walker for Jack Irish: Dead Point.

Doco TV series, Next Stop Hollywood, follows aspiring Aussie actors in La

That is, until one cropped up in his latest documentary series, Next Stop Hollywood.

Debuting.on the ABC tomorrow night, Next Stop Hollywood follows the plight of six Australian actors who head to Hollywood during the infamous pilot season.

Two million for nine docos

Screen Australia has announced a round of investment, with $2m for nine documentaries, with production valued at $12m.

“Among the domestic projects, the critically acclaimed Anatomy series will continue to deliver visually inventive arts documentaries, while Running to America promises a feel-good story from the Top End. The seven international projects will further extend our uniquely Australian stories and voices on the world stage,” said CEO Ruth Harley.
