  • (April 1998) : Played "Nojd" in "The Father", a play by August Strindberg (Geffen Playhouse, Los Angeles, California, USA)

  • (1991) First job was Caryl Churchill's play, "Mad Forest", with Calista Flockhart, Tim Blake Nelson and Jake Weber (1991).
  • (1994) Played "Bertram Cates" in the Broadway revival of "Inherit the Wind", with George C. Scott (1994).
  • (August 2006) Played "Reverend Shannon" in Tennessee Williams' "Night of the Iguana", at the Berkshire Theatre Festival in Massachusetts, opposite Linda Hamilton as "Maxine".
  • (1995, July) Played Tom Junior in the Tennessee Williams play "Sweet Bird of Youth" at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, Williamstown, Massachusetts.
  • (1999) Played "Clifford" in "Side Man" at Steppenwolf Theater Company, September 1999.
  • (1994-95) Played "Prior Walter" in "Angels in America" at ACT, San Francisco, 1994-95.
  • (2000) Played "Jackie" in "The Beginning of August", a play by Tom Donaghy at the Atlantic Theater Company, New York City, starting October 11, 2000. The production's director was Neil Pepe; Dillahunt's costars were Mary Steenburgen, Jason Ritter, Raymond Anthony Thomas and Mary B. McCann.
  • (May 2009 - June 2009) Played "Corbin Teel" in New York Theater Workshop's "Things of Dry Hours", with Delroy Lindo and Roslyn Ruff.
  • (May 2010) Played "Clifford" in a staged reading of "Side Man" for L.A. Theatre Works.
  • (2004 - 2007) Garret played a character in The 4400 I believe he was in the 3rd or 4th season.
