Jerry Della Salla, is an Army Combat veteran who served 12 months with the 18th MP Battalion, and 306th MP Unit - OIF3.

He studied with Stella Adler and is a graduate of the NYU Tisch Drama Program.

He co-starred with the late Victor Argo in his last film- Personal Sergeant (2004).

He co-starred opposite Matt Damon in the Green Zone (2010), Directed by Paul Greengrass.

Performed with Edward Norton Off-Broadway in 'Waiting For Lefty', at the Kampo Cultural Center, NYC (1992).

Performed with Peter Dinklage in 'Taming of the Shrew', at the NJ Shakespeare Festival (1993).

Boxed as an Amateur in the NJ Diamond gloves, under the Training of Hall of Fame coach Tex Gonzalez.

He was good friends with the late comedic actor Orson Bean, after the two met at a popular church in Santa Monica, CA in 2011. Bean was also responsible for recommending Della Salla to the award winning Pacific Resident Theater, in Venice, CA. Della Salla has been a company member there since 2013.

On April 2nd, 2005, SGT. Jerry Della Salla was wounded in a three hour long base attack while serving in Iraq. At the time, it was the single largest attack on any base in theater. The battle to this day has also held a unique place in the wars history, because every single military component (Army, Navy, Marine, Air-Force and Coalition troupes) fought side by side to fendoff the enemy. For his actions, Jerry Della Salla was awarded the Combat Action Badge and is under review for the Purple Heart. Other Medals and citations include the Army Good Conduct Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, The Generals Coin for Excellence, The Iraqi Campaign Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Medal.

During his filming of the Green Zone, Jerry was serving as both a Squad Leader in the US Army-Reserves and as one in Hollywood opposite Matt Damon.
To help pay the rent, he used to work the prepared food section of a Deli with Philip Seymour Hoffman in the early '90s, while attending NYU.
While Deployed in Iraq (2005), he entered the West Point Academy's German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge competition. This Army 'Iron Man' contest pits soldiers to achieve top scores in events such as weight lifting, high jumping, swimming, sprinting, long jumping, 9mm marksmanship and ending finally with a 16 mile 'combat road march' around the base. Eventually he earned the Gold Medal, and finished his final task in just under 4 hours.

Raised in the Township of East Hanover, NJ- a suburban community existing nearly 40 minutes outside of NYC. Before the actor began making studio films, the towns most notable feature was the Headquarters building to the Nabisco Corp. On August 27th, 2010, the mayor honored Jerry with a Proclamation for his achievement in the Green Zone.
Served in Iraq in 2005, as a Military Police Sergeant with the 306th MPBN, Uniondale, NY. During the tour, one of his Squad Leaders was SSG James D. McNaughton - the First NYPD Officer killed in combat.
Once qualified as an Expert Marksman on both the 9MM and M16A2 Weapons. When stationed at Ft. Dix, NJ, he shot a perfect 10 out of 10 targets while in a Fox hole at night, without the assistance of NVG's, and where targets were positioned at distances 100 meters apart.
Became a Christian in 1993. As a member of the popular Redeemer Presbyterian Church, NYC, he used to lead outreach groups to troubled youth through a program called 'Hope for New York.'.
Studies Krav Maga (the Israeli Self Defense Technique) and earned a Yellow Belt prior to his deployment overseas.

(2014- La Mirada, CA) Earned an MA Certificate from Biola University in the study of Christian Apologetics. The program gives emphasis on the defense of the Gospels of Jesus Christ.
Hollywood, CA. Performing with the LA based Harold Clurman Theater Lab, in the critically acclaimed Summer Shakespeare production of 'Macbeth', in the role of Banquo. June 19th- July 11th, 2015.
Daughter Elia Quynh- Sascha Della Salla: Born January 24th, 2016. Her first name is the female Biblical version of Elijah. Her middle name is Vietnamese and translates to 'Beautiful Midnight Flower'. The name Sascha was given finally, to Honor a fallen soldier who served with Della Salla during OIF/OEF3.
August 2018- Won the award for Best Alumni Film as a co-producer at the 16th Annual 168 Film Festival with WIRELESS, a Mob based comedy. The 168 is the leading Faith based Film Festival in Hollywood, showcasing the best of Christian Film shorts from around the world. He was also a runner up nominee for Best Actor with his portrayal of Mob Enforcer Tommy "The Off" Dragna.
November 2016- Performed in the Award winning Blank Theater Company production of The Tragedy of JFK: (as told by Wm. Shakespeare), Noah Wyle Producer- Daniel Henning Artistic Director, at the Skylight Theater in Los Feliz, CA. An LA Times Critics Pick, Della Salla created the dual roles of Mafia Boss Carlos Marcello and Movie producer Jack Valenti. The play was nominated for several Broadway World.com awards and was the runner up for Best Local Production in 2016.
