‘Little Evil’ Review (Netflix)

Stars: Adam Scott, Evangeline Lilly, Owen Atlas, Sally Field, Clancy Brown, Tyler Labine, Donald Faison, Bridget Everett | Written and Directed by Eli Craig

Other people’s kids can be the worst, huh? Spare a thought for poor Gary (Adam Scott) whose six-year-old stepson may well be the Antichrist. Otherwise happily married to the lovely Samantha (Evangeline Lilly), Gary is prepared to do anything he can to get little Lucas on side… even if that means risking his own life and those around him. Parenting can be, ahem, Hell.

Little Evil is the latest comedy horror from Tucker and Dale vs Evil writer-and-director Eli Craig, a film beloved by no small portion of the horror community. With seven years between this and Craig’s celebrated debut, can he pull it off again? Or is Little Evil as predictable and lame as its trailer suggested?

Thankfully, no! While the comedy is played

Meet Gary. He just married Samantha, the woman of his dreams. There’s one problem, his stepson is the antichrist.

‘Little Evil’ Trailer: Adam Scott and Evangeline Lilly Raise the Antichrist

‘Little Evil’ Trailer: Adam Scott and Evangeline Lilly Raise the Antichrist
Tucker & Dale vs. Evil is a fantastic horror comedy. Eli Craig‘s directorial debut is a sweet, bloody as hell and consistently funny film with two standout performances. Craig has reunited with the star of his first movie, Tyler Labine, for his second feature, Little Evil. The Netflix comedy stars Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation) and Evangeline Lilly (Ant-Man) as a newly wed […]

Adam Scott Battles an Evil Child in First Trailer for Netflix's 'Little Evil'

"There is nothing wrong with Lucas!" Netflix has released the official trailer for an indie horror comedy titled Little Evil, the latest from Eli Craig, director of the other great horror comedy Tucker and Dale vs Evil. Remember that one? We covered it closely when it opened back in 2010. Little Evil stars Adam Scott as a man who marries the woman of his dreams, played by Evangeline Lilly. The only problem is that her child is the antichrist. Also starring Bridget Everett, Clancy Brown, Tyler Labine, Donald Faison, Chris D'Elia, and Owen Atlas as Lucas. This looks good, don't think we've seen many comedies making fun of the evil child horror trope, but I'm up for this. Glad to see something new from Eli Craig, too. Enjoy. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Eli Craig's Little Evil, direct from Netflix's YouTube: Meet Gary (Adam Scott). He just married

Love, Family And The Antichrist Combine In Offbeat Trailer For Netflix’s Little Evil

Picture the scene: you’re a stepfather madly in love with the woman of your dreams. Things are going swimmingly, until you discover that her quirky five-year-old son is actually the spawn of Satan.

That is, in a nutshell, the elevator pitch of Little Evil, Netflix’s offbeat new comedy from the mind of Eli Craig (Tucker & Dale vs. Evil). Headed up by Adam Scott (Parks & Recreation) and Evangeline Lilly (Ant-Man and the Wasp), the trailer above introduces us to Gary (Scott), an Average Joe who finds himself smack bang in the middle of a Doomsday conspiracy upon realizing that his new stepson, Lucas (Owen Atlas), harbors all of the qualities of the Antichrist.

The film’s horror callbacks help drive that point home, too, as Lucas is placed face-to-face with an old analog TV (see: Poltergeist) along with the shot of him playing on a rickety old swing a la The Omen.

‘Little Evil’ Trailer: Adam Scott’s Stepson Is The Antichrist

Back in 1990, John Ritter had to deal with his “Problem Child,” but we’d argue his character probably wouldn’t trade places with Adam Scott. The “Party Down” and “Parks & Recreation” star will have his own hellraiser to face in the upcoming “Little Evil.”

Adam Scott Gets the Sense That His Step-Son is Evil Incarnate in Hilarious Trailer For Little Evil

If the classic horror movie The Omen was a comedy, it would be this hilarious looking horror/comedy Little Evil. Adam Scott stars in the film a guy named Gary, who married a woman named Samantha (Evangeline Lilly). She has a 6-year-old son and Scott gets the sense that he is the son of Satan and the Antichrist.

What makes the film so exciting is the fact that that is was written and directed by Eli Craig. Who is he you ask? He's the same guy who previously brought us the amazingly funny horror/comedy Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil! This next film of his looks like it's going to be equally as awesome.

It's set to premiere on Netflix on September 1st and I can't wait to see it!

Sundance Midnight Memories: Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil (2010)

  • DailyDead
[Welcome back, readers! With the 2017 Sundance Film Festival beginning later this week, we thought it would be fun to take a look back at some of the great midnight movies that have come out of the fest over the years. Be sure to check back here each day this week for more Midnight Memories from Daily Dead!]

“Oh, hidy ho, officer. We have had a doozy of a day.”

I love horror of all kinds, but if I were to pick my favorite sub-genre, it would definitely be horror comedy. Maybe it’s because I’m a big fan of having fun with the genre, as opposed to just pushing myself in order to say I “survived” more challenging material, so anytime a director can cleverly combine thrills, chills, and chuckles into one experience, you can always count me in. Such is the case with Tucker & Dale vs Evil, which made its blood-soaked premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 22nd, 2010.

Co-written and directed by Eli Craig, Tucker & Dale vs Evil follows two groups, the first being our titular hillbillies who are heading out to Morris Lake, and the second a gaggle of college kids looking to go camping out in the forest. Tucker (Alan Tudyk

Q&A with Ouija: Origin Of Evil Costume Designer Lynn Falconer

  • DailyDead
Set in the 1960s, Mike Flanagan's Ouija: Origin of Evil features a vintage setting for its scares. Playing a key role in bringing the film's bygone era to life is costume designer Lynn Falconer. With Flanagan's latest movie now in theaters, we caught up with Falconer for our latest Q&A feature, and she also provided us with two characters sketches that she did for the film.

Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions for us, Lynn. Were there any specific challenges or rewarding moments that you experienced while working on a horror film set in the 1960s?

Lynn Falconer: Specifically rewarding is finding a funky piece of wardrobe from the past and breathing new life into it by reimagining that piece on a character. I shopped thrift stores, boutiques, and estate sales to find the ’60s period, but while I had a firm rudder for accuracy,

Adam Scott And Evangeline Lilly To Deliver Little Evil To Netflix

Netflix can always be relied upon to provide audiences with unexpected gems but, as the streaming service continues to make progress in the production of new material, we not only get to hear about those gems in advance, but we get to anticipate their arrival and consume it immediately upon release. Such is the case with Little Evil – a new comedy coming from writer-director Eli Craig (Tucker & Dale Vs Evil) that is now set to star Evangeline Lilly and Adam Scott.

The premise has great comedic potential, while leaving room for Craig’s trademark scary edge. Gary (Adam Scott) marries Samantha (Evangeline Lilly) and in doing so, gains a six year old stepson (played by Owen Atlas). The honeymoon period is somewhat disrupted, however, because the child is revealed to be the Anti-Christ.

Such a plot would demand some deft work on the part of the cast, and in this case,
