James E. Cornette was born on September 17, 1961 in Louisville, Kentucky, USA as James Mark Cornette. He is an actor and producer, known for Smoky Mountain Wrestling (1992), Ring of Honor Wrestling (2009) and King of the Ring (1998). He has been married to Stacey Goff since October 31, 2007. He was previously married to Janice Kelly Crowl.

Founded & ran several independent wrestling federations throughout the southeast, as well as working in both the WWF & WCW.

In his youth, installed a ten-foot-high antenna on his roof, so he could watch all the regional wrestling promotions on TV.
When Mick Foley made his World Wrestling Federation debut as 'Mankind', Mick was often seen in vignettes holding a live sewer rat. In real life, the rat - named "George" - was actually owned as a pet by Cornette.
He formed Ohio Valley Wrestling, which would be used as a developmental system for the WWF/E.
As of March 2004, he is suffering from an enlarged voice box, caused by his years of screaming as a manager and commentator.
Co-managed (with Mr. Fuji) WWF champion, the late Yokozuna.
