He created the Klingons for Star Trek. Their very first appearance was in the first-season episode "Errand Of Mercy", which he wrote. Based on a suggestion from Gene Roddenberry. Roddenberry served under Lt. Wilber Clingan while at The Los Angeles Police Department.
