Headshot
Lindsey is a graduate of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts and the Humber School of Comedy Writing and Performance. Raised in Toronto and Montreal, Lindsey started acting professionally at age 10, playing the lead role in Young People's Theatre's musical production of 'Babe'. Many musicals and movies-of-the-week later, Lindsey went to London, U.K, to dive into an intense classical theatre training at LAMDA. In her late 20's, she fell in love with improvisation, sketch comedy, and screenwriting, which led her to Second City and the Humber School of Comedy Writing and Performance. Realizing that no one could flop at stand up as much as she had during that time, Lindsey continued to hone her comedy at L.A's famed Groundlings school. That season in L.A birthed many short stories and two film scripts. Back in Toronto, Lindsey wrote, directed, and starred in "Two Doors Twice" at the Toronto Fringe Theatre and her writing and screenwriting started getting noticed. Quarterfinalist at the Nicholls Fellowship, winner of the Screenplay Getaway Prize at the Worldwide Short Film Festival, and short listed for the CBC literary prize. Lindsey wrote and directed two award-winning short films: The Big 1-0, which starred then husband, Jim Allodi; and Bare Knuckle Duet (which she filmed while eight and a half months pregnant), a magic realism piece. Both films went on to have very successful festival runs. As her writing career bloomed, Lindsey never stopped acting, landing many roles in film and television but she was growing more aware of the dearth of great roles for women in their 40's. While her children were young, Lindsey started a stationery and greeting card company called "Tense and Urgent", based on her illustrations and darkly funny observations. She also pivoted from writer to teacher. Shepherding other writers and helping them hone their screenplays in her role as Script Development Officer at the Female Eye Film Festival in Toronto for four years. Realizing that she loved nurturing the writer even more than she did the writing, Lindsey embarked on a new passion - coaching. Certified by the Co-Active Coaching academy with significant training at ADDCA (Attention Deficit Disorder Coaching Academy), Lindsey's coaching endeavours to bring the light out in all of her clients, whether they have ADHD, are in the creative fields, or not. Lindsey lives in Toronto with her two kids, now 9 and 11.
