'Ouija 2' Is Happening

'Ouija 2' Is Happening
Although it didn't fare well with the nation's critics, with just a 7% "Fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes, those who enjoyed last fall's Ouija will be getting a sequel, according to producer Bradley Fuller. While conducting an interview with Collider for Project Almanac, the producer confirmed that a Ouija sequel is in development, although he would not confirm any plot or casting details, only that, "Ouija 2 is coming." It isn't know if Bradley Fuller and his producing partner Andrew Form have hired a screenwriter to craft the story at this time.

While Ouija certainly wasn't a critical hit, the thriller did take in $90.6 million worldwide from just a $5 million production budget. Those numbers are similar to another Universal Pictures' low-budget hit, The Purge, which took in $89.3 million from a $3 million budget, and last year's follow-up The Purge: Anarchy, which bested its predecessor with $110 million worldwide from a $9 million budget. Film Review: ‘Ouija’

Film Review: ‘Ouija’
It’s the rare Hasbro/Michael Bay production that may actually dissuade audiences from buying the product it’s selling, but aside from that rather charming distinction, “Ouija” is fairly routine stuff. A tale of two teenage sisters, their very expendable friends and the creepy board game that just won’t leave them alone, this silly but straight-faced supernatural thriller manages to elicit an occasional shudder in between cheap jolts and false scares, emerging as a feat of competent direction (by debuting helmer Stiles White) over derivative scripting (by White and writing partner Juliet Snowden). Friendly box office spirits are already smiling upon Universal’s Oct. 24 release, and should continue to hover at least through Halloween weekend.

“Calm down, it’s only a game,” whispers young Debbie (Claire Beale) as she introduces her terrified friend, Laine (Afra Tully), to the mysteries of Ouija, using a heart-shaped planchette and an ornate

‘Ouija’ Movie Promotion Sends People Running From Room

Thinkmodo, the marketing shop behind promotional stunts for MGM’s “Carrie” remake and Fox’s “Devil’s Due,” has produced its next thriller for Universal and Hasbro Studios’ “Ouija.”

While visiting a Brooklyn psychic, unsuspecting individuals are given a fright when the medium reads the letters R-u-n and screams the word while her eyes bulge. Seconds letter, a zombie bursts from the floorboards, sending some visitors running from the room.

Thinkmodo records each stunt so that they can be released and shared on YouTube.

One for “Carrie” generated over 59 million views in 2013, followed by a creepy possessed baby scaring people in New York City for “Devil’s Due,” earlier this year, that was viewed over 48 million times, both becoming viral hits.

Universal will release “Ouija” on Oct. 24.

Stiles White helmed the film that stars Daren Kagasoff, Douglas Smith, Olivia Cooke, Ana Coto, Bianca A. Santos, Erin Moriarty and Vivis Colombetti.

Extended Ouija TV Spot Wants To Play A Game

We’re still very much in the midst of August, but Universal is already taking steps to ensure that Ouija will be a familiar name by the time October rolls around. A new TV spot for the upcoming horror title has landed online, tightening footage we already saw in the first theatrical preview into a concise, if less scary teaser.

Ouija is one of a few horror pics that will be competing for your screams (and hard-earned cash) come Halloween – earlier in the month, we’ll be getting The Conjuring spinoff Annabelle, anthology ABCs of Death 2, horror-tinged battle epic Dracula Untold and freaky threequel V/H/S Viral. So what sets this one apart? Its young, photogenic cast (which includes a wealth of supporting players from teen-targeted TV) might be enough.

Douglas Smith (HBO’s Big Love) and Olivia Cooke (A&E’s Bates Motel) topline a cast which also

Extended TV Spot for the Horror Film Ouija

Universal Pictures has released an extended TV spot for their horror film Ouija, which follows a group of friends who must confront their most terrifying fears when they awaken the dark powers of an ancient spirit board. I guess this is the kind of stuff that happens when you mess with the devil and his minions.

I always thought that a movie centered around a Ouija board could make for a really cool horror movie. I have yet to see a good one, though, and this Michael Bay-produced film doesn't look like it's going to be very good either. It's just another wasted opportunity to make a terrifying Ouija board movie.

The film was directed by Stiles White, and it stars Olivia Cooke, Douglas Smith, Bianca Santos, Daren Kagasoff, Vivis Colombetti, Ana Coto, and Erin Moriarty. The movie is set to be released on October 24th.

Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for their upcoming horror thriller Ouija. The story centers on a group of friends who start screwing around with a Ouija board, and as you'll see in the trailer, very bad things start to happen. 7 Most Mind-Numbingly Generic Things About The First 'Ouija' Trailer
Is the new "Ouija" trailer feeling a little...familiar? Formulaic? Uninspired? I hear you. This movie looks like it was cobbled together by a focus group specializing in "What Millenials Want! Lolz Omg Facebook Sexxxting!" To demonstrate what I mean, below are seven of the most heinous cliches from the new spot (embedded above). 1. Actors who look at least five years too old to be in high school Where have we seen this before? Hmm, try every teenage horror movie ever made. Actually, lead actress Olivia "Final Girl" Cooke is only 20 years old, but the majority of her "classmates" look like they should get arrested for being within 30 feet of a locker. 2. Out-of-touch suburban setting As someone who actually grew up in the hinterlands, I feel qualified to say this: not everyone in suburbia lives in a fabulous three-story Victorian mini-mansion. 3. Wise old psychic woman I actually thought co-star Vivis Colombetti
