Olivia Cole was born on November 26, 1942 in Memphis, Tennessee, USA. She was an actress, known for Roots (1977), Backstairs at the White House (1979) and Something About Amelia (1984). She was married to Richard Venture. She died on January 19, 2018 in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico.

Ms. Cole is an honorary member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Is the very first African American actress to win an Emmy award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Television Movie.
Retired from acting in 1995. Came out of retirement to appear in "First Sunday" (2008).
Attended Hunter College High School, Bard College in New York and then the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.
Died just 31 days following the death of her ex-husband, actor Richard Venture.
