10 Things Seth Rogen Revealed About Pineapple Express

10 Things Seth Rogen Revealed About Pineapple Express
We're big fans of Pineapple Express, the modestly budgeted action comedy starring Seth Rogen and James Franco, which grossed over $100 million in 2008. Conceived by Rogen, his writing partner Evan Goldberg and producer Judd Apatow, Pineapple Express is incredibly quotable and endlessly re-watchable, with a standout supporting turn by Danny McBride. To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the stoner classic, Seth took to Twitter and unleashed some Wikipedia-smashing bits of trivia. Here we'll take a look at 10 things Seth Rogen revealed about Pineapple Express.

Crossing Guards

Many filmmakers draw on their real life experience to add authenticity to their productions, whether it's a twist of phrase from a specific region, certain wardrobe choices, the set decoration, or the difference between which weapons a character might use. As Seth explained in the first in his series of Tweets, "In Pineapple Express, me and my co-writer Evan had to roll all the

Julia Louis-Dreyfus Shares ‘Veep’ Season Seven Table Read Photo

Julia Louis-Dreyfus Shares ‘Veep’ Season Seven Table Read Photo
These politicians keep their promises: HBO’s Veep is back in action as pledged, with star Julia Louis-Dreyfus sharing a photo of cast and crew at a Season 7 table read. (See it below.)

“Guys, we just learned how to take a picture of ourselves on my phone!,” Louis-Dreyfus wrote on her Instagram account. “How cool is this? @veephbo Table read episodes 2 & 3 Season 7, baby!”

Last month, Veep‘s return in spring 2019 for its seventh and final season was announced by HBO president of programming Casey Bloys at TCA. “Writers are now getting together, with shooting scheduled to begin this fall, and the final Season 7 airing sometime this spring,” he said.

HBO had previously confirmed that Season 7 would be the last for the multi-Emmy-winning series. The production schedule was delayed due to Louis-Dreyfus’ cancer surgery and treatment, which she disclosed last September.

Louis-Dreyfus stars as Selina Meyer, the former vice president and (briefly) president,

‘Bold Strategy, Cotton!’ Inside ESPN’s Crazy Plans to Turn ‘The Ocho’ Into a Business

  • Variety
The ads are real. The network should not be.

For 24 hours, ESPN is operating what should really be a fictional network best left as part of a script to a funny cult-favorite film. “The Ocho,” an ESPN outlet devoted to niche sports like pickleball, cornhole and something called “chess boxing” is running on ESPN 2 throughout August 8 – complete with special commercials from KFC. The lineup includes two airings of the 2004 20th Century Fox film, “Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story,” in which a group of misfits assemble to play in a national dodgeball championship televised by a completely made-up. “ESPN 8: The Ocho.” Today’s efforts, however, are very real.

“They are giving less celebrated sports a moment in the spotlight,” says Steve Kelly, director of media and marketing for KFC, which is sponsoring the off-kilter concept with clever ads that show athletes trying to succeed in sports with the chain’s iconic buckets over their heads.

‘Veep’: Seventh & Final Season Heads To Production, Set For Spring HBO Premiere – TCA

  • Deadline
Veep will return for its seventh and final season in spring 2019. HBO president of programming Casey Bloys made the announcement at TCA.

“Writers are now getting together, with shooting scheduled to begin this fall, and the final Season 7 airing sometime this spring,” he said.

HBO announced last September that Season 7 would be the last for the multi-Emmy-winning series.

The production schedule was pushed due to star Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ cancer surgery and treatment. Louis-Dreyfus disclosed her diagnosis last September and posted frequent updates on her progress on social media. In January, she celebrated her final day of chemotherapy by sharing a video of sons Charlie and Henry lip-syncing to Michael Jackson’s “Beat It.” The following month, she posted a photo of herself after surgery with the caption. “Hoorah! Great doctors, great results, feeling happy and ready to rock after surgery. Hey cancer, ‘F*ck you!’ Here’s my first post-op photo.
