Lisy Christl

Lisy Christl was born on August 29 1964. She was brought up in Munich
and began her career as an assistant to costume designers in German
theatre, entering films in the mid-1990s and working frequently with
director Michael Haneke. In 2009 she received the German film prize for
best costumes for 'John Rabe', Florian Gallenberger's epic account of a
German businessman who saved countless Chinese during the Nanjing
massacres and in 2011 fellow countryman Roland Emmerich enticed her
into the world of English language film when she designed the clothes
for Tudor set 'Anonymous',in the process garnering an Academy Award
nomination.
