Supriya Choudhury was born on January 8, 1935 in Michkina, British Burma as Krishna Banerjee. She was an actress, known for Debdas (1979), Sanyasi Raja (1975) and The Cloud-Capped Star (1960). She was married to Bishwanath Choudhury. She died on January 26, 2018 in Kolkata, West Bengal, India.

Has a cooking show called 'Benu-dir Rannaghar' on Tara Bangla. She has also published a cooking book entitled 'Benu di'r Ranna-Banna' in which she has named several of her dishes after those who have tasted them (including several famous actors).
Often paired on-screen with the two best known male stars of Bengali cinema: Late Uttam Kumar and Soumitra Chatterjee.
Started acting when she was seven; her father, noted lawyer Gopal Chandra Banerjee, made her play two roles in two plays directed by him (she played male roles in both).
