Rémy Chevrin
Rémy Chevrin spent his youth in Rouen, integrating the CHAM classes of the National Conservatory of music in Rouen (where he learned the piano and the horn) in primary and secondary school, then following scientific studies at the Lycée Corneille before being admitted to the École Nationale Louis Lumière (ENLL) in 1983, formerly known as Vaugirard in Paris. When he graduated in 1985, he started as a camera assistant with Bruno Nuytten on "Jean of Florette" and "Manon of sources", then met Darius Khondji with whom he began a collaboration from 1986 to 1991 in the advertising industry but also on feature films such as Delicatessen by Jean-Pierre Jeunet or The Treasure of the Dog Islands by F. J. Ossang. In 1992, he embarked on a career as a director of photography, starting in music videos and advertising with Chico Bialas, Jean Baptiste Mondino or Eric Ifergan. Then in 1996, FJ. Ossang asked him to light Doctor Chance, which is his first film as a director of photography. He is mainly known for his collaborations with Yvan Attal such as "My wife is an actress" and "They happily lived together" or with Christophe Honoré such as "Love songs" (2007), The beloved (2011) and 17 x Cécile Cassard (2002). He also lit his two plays presented at the Avignon Festival in 2009 and 2012. He was president of the AFC from 2007 to 2009 and has been co-president since 2012. That same year, he was part of the jury of the Caméra d'Or in Cannes alongside Carlos Diegues, president of the jury, Gloria Satta, Michel Andrieu, Francis Gavelle, and Hervé Icovic. In 2014 he received the Lumières award for best photography for the film he lit "A la vie" by Jean-Jacques Zilberman. He continues a strong collaboration with Yvan Attal and Christophe Honoré.
