Karel Cerný was born on 7 April 1922 in Plzen, Czechoslovakia [now Czech Republic]. He was a production designer and art director, known for Amadeus (1984), The Firemen's Ball (1967) and Klec pro dva (1968). He died on 5 September 2014 in Tábor, Czech Republic.
