From VHS to VOD #1

I don’t know if you’re anything like me, but I can often spend hours upon hours trawling through iTunes looking for new movies to buy… Usually I’ll randomly come across a title I haven’t seen in years and use the “Cast & Crew” links to make my way down the rabbit hole to the more obscure side of Apple’s digital movie service.

Chicago – One of the great events in Chicago to interact with celebrity favorites is at the “Hollywood Celebrities and Memorabilia Show.” In 2011, the autumn event took place on October 1st and 2nd, and featured the “Happy Days” TV gang Henry Winkler, Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams, plus Barry Bostwick and Patricia Quinn from “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.”

The latest Hollywood Celebrities and Memorabilia Show was the last such event for founders Ray and Sharon McCourt, as they headed for retirement. The show will go on, however, as new ownership will bring “The Hollywood Show” to Chicago in March, 2012. photographer Joe Arce was at the October show, and recorded the following slideshow of celebrities that participated. Episode Recap: CSI: NY - 1.09: "Officer Blue"

In the first story, a man is assaulted in Central Park, leading to a mounted police officer intervening and is shot. The horse escapes but is run over by a taxi and is still alive. Flack (Eddie Cahill) says he heard the shot from 6th Ave and it shook the windows of his car. Mac (Gary Sinise) explains it was the echo from the weapon, as if Flack wouldn't know that already. The policeman was shot through the back and through his vest by a sniper. Danny (Carmine Giovinazzo) and Aiden (Vanessa Ferlito) process the scene in search of the elusive bullet. Mac finds a mobile/cell phone, but no bullet and Danny takes the tapes from the cameras. Castle (Nathan Fillion) and his daughter, Alexis (Molly Quinn), are going over his latest chapter of his Nikki Heat novel -- where upon Castle decides to get rid of his "doofus" character Detective Schlemming (venting his frustrations?) -- when he is called to a crime scene. Beckett (Stana Katic) informs him that upscale men’s products designer Dameon Wilder has been shot and bludgeoned with a blunt object. Apparently, he needed to die twice. Looking over the crime scene, they discover that, in addition to "Murder" being scrawled in blood on a mirror, Wilder’s rare book collection has been stolen.
