‘Jumanji’ Sequel to Release in December 2019

At Sony’s CinemaCon presentation in Las Vegas, Sony Motion Pictures chairman Tom Rothman revealed that 2017’s surprise blockbuster “Jumanji” will be getting a sequel to premiere Christmastime of next year.

Rothman acknowledged that the release date would pit it against “Star Wars: Episode IX,” which is set to premiere around the same time.

“Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,” starring Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, has been one of the biggest blockbusters of the year, earning over $400 million domestically and with a global tally approaching $1 billion. After coming in second its premiere weekend to “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” “Jumanji” accomplished the unusual feat of climbing to No. 1 in its fifth weekend, and remaining at the top for the following three weekends. After falling back to second to “Maze Runner: The Death Cure,” “Jumanji” rose back to No. 1 for a fourth weekend.

The film has been especially popular overseas, earning

New plot details emerge for Ant-Man and the Wasp

The release of the follow-up to Peyton Reed’s 2015 Ant-Man, Ant-Man and the Wasp is now only three months away but details surrounding the plot has, until now, been a bit vague. Finally, thanks to the film’s star, Evangeline Lilly – who plays Hope van Dyne – and Reed, further details have arisen.

What we do know so far, is that the sequel will follow on from Captain America: Civil War with Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang trying to come to grips with his new role as Ant-Man. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Lily has opened up and revealed how the sequel links with the first outing.

“Scott entered the Quantum Realm in the first film and came back, which is something they thought was impossible. The question has arisen ‘Can Janet come back?’ So the entire film, my character is hell-bent on finding a way to get into the Quantum Realm and bring her back.

Christopher Plummer in Official Trailer for Road Trip Film 'Boundaries'

"Who are these people?" Sony Pictures Classics has released an official trailer for an amusing road trip film titled Boundaries, from writer/director Shana Feste. It just premiered at the SXSW Film Festival, and stars Christopher Plummer as Jack. The story follows Laura and her son Henry who are forced to drive Jack, her "estranged, pot-dealing, carefree father", across the country after he is kicked out of his nursing home. The film's cast includes Vera Farmiga as Laura, Lewis MacDougall as Henry, plus Christopher Lloyd, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Kristen Schaal, Bobby Cannavale, Peter Fonda, and Dolly Wells. I don't recall hearing much about this during the festival, but it does look like a fun road trip film. Always up for another kooky performance from Plummer, plus Vera Farmiga is always enjoyable to watch. Take a look. Here's the first official trailer for Shana Feste's Boundaries, direct from YouTube: Laura

‘Boundaries’ Trailer: Christopher Plummer Wants to Drive Cross-Country With His Family (And Also Sell a Lot of Weed)

‘Boundaries’ Trailer: Christopher Plummer Wants to Drive Cross-Country With His Family (And Also Sell a Lot of Weed)
Talk about a road trip. “Country Strong” director Shana Feste is back on the big screen with a very funny, very personal slice of life that’s, well, literally sliced right from her own life.

In “Boundaries,” Vera Farmiga steps in as a Feste-surrogate (the film is loosely based on the filmmaker’s own family life and a trip she took with her dad back in the ’80s), who is forced to embark on a wacky road trip with her drug dealer dad Jack (Christopher Plummer). It already sounds ill-fated on paper — Jack has recently been kicked out of his nursing home for his bad behavior, and he’s hellbent on living it up while the family drives cross-country to deliver him to Farmiga’s sister, played by Kristen Schaal — but only gets more off-kilter as the wheels keep spinning.

The film also features “A Monster Calls” breakout Lewis MacDougall as Farmgia’s son,

Al Pacino on being digitally de-aged for Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman

Martin Scorsese is currently in post-production on his latest film, mob epic The Irishman, with the Netflix movie’s budget reportedly ballooning from $100 million to around $175 million thanks in no small part to the extensive visual effects required to digitally de-age its cast.

Once such cast member is Al Pacino, who is teaming on the role of Teamsters union leader Jimmy Hoffa, and during an interview with The Ringer (via IndieWire), the screen legend has been discussing his approach to playing a character almost half his age.

“I was playing Jimmy Hoffa at the age of 39, they’re doing that on a computer,” said Pacino. “We went through all these tests and things. Someone would come up to me and say, ‘You’re 39.’ [You’d recall] some sort of memory of 39, and your body tries to acclimate to that and think that way. They remind you of it.”

Ant-Man and the Wasp’s Hannah John-Kamen discusses her gender-swapped villain The Ghost

A few weeks back there were rumours that Marvel was considering gender-swapping a villain for the as-yet-untitled Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel.

Should that prove to be the case, it won’t be the first McU release to do so, as Hannah John-Kamen is set to portray a female version of The Ghost in this summer’s Ant-Man and the Wasp, and speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the actress has shared a few words on the reaction she’s experienced so far.

“I always say a character from a comic book is a character from a comic book, and as an actor, you’re lifting it off the page,” said John-Kamen, who can currently be seen in Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One. “You’re the one who’s creating and giving it life… The reaction has been excitement and anticipation and that’s exactly how I feel. I’m like, ‘Right, let’s see this,

Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp is reportedly undergoing reshoots

We have been hit plenty of news regarding reshoots these days. Just this week we learned that X-Men: Dark Phoenix would be delayed for reshoots, as well as The New Mutants (again). Now, we have another film to add to the mix: Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp. An Italian film site by the name of Bad Taste (via Screen Rant) reports that the Ant-Man sequel will soon be undergoing reshoots.

The film’s entire opening sequence — shot in South America — apparently did not go over well with test audiences, and will be redone entirely. Additionally, it looks like some reshoots will be happening in Los Angeles.

This hasn’t been confirmed by Marvel Studios (yet) so take this with a grain of salt. So far there is no need to worry: It’s a good sign when studios listen to the fans; Hopefully Ant-Man and the Wasp will be
