In late 2000-2001, Bunnell worked as an extra in Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes (2001) performing in full costume and make-up as a Red Army chimpanzee. He appeared in all the battle, fighting and marching sequences shot at Sony Studios in Culver City, California & in the Trona, California desert.
