Robert Bramkamp was born 1961 in Münster, Germany. He studied art and
German in Münster and worked for the "Filmgruppe Münster".
Writer and director of short and feature films of various genres since 1983. Co-producing with Laurens Straub, Ralph Fescue, Kirsten Ellerbrake, collaboration with Thomas Kufus, Martin Hagemann.
Collaboration with the artist Susanne Weirich, media art installations since 1988. Development and implementation of the experimental television program at Zeughauskino and script consultant.
Lecturer at universities such as HFF Konrad Wolf, Potsdam-Babelsberg and the Pasadena Art Center College of Design. Professor (film) at the Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg (Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg) since 2008; also at the European Graduate School, Saas Fee since 2012.
He won and was nominated (f.ex. Grimme Preis Spezial) for several awards and is shown on film festivals such as Berlin International Film Festival, Hofer Filmtage etc. and on TV.
