Trivia:

Graduated from Harvard University in 1965 and became a journalist for 'Newsweek'. He also worked as a film critic for 'Esquire' and 'The New Yorker' before writing his first screenplay. Also a songwriter, he composed a musical 'King of Hearts', and has collaborated with Carly Simon on songs which she has recorded. He was married to lyricist Mindy Jostyn, who died in 2005.
