Extremely talented writer and director Richard Blackburn achieved his greatest popularity as the co-screenwriter of the wickedly witty script for Paul Bartel's hilarious black comedy indie gem "Eating Raoul." Blackburn also served as associate producer and plays a small part in "Eating Raoul." However, Blackburn truly deserves to be acknowledged and appraised as the writer and director of the splendidly offbeat, original and atmospheric period horror vampire winner "Lemora: A Child's Tale of the Supernatural." In addition to writing and directing, Blackburn also portrayed a strict reverend in this well-regarded 1970's cult horror classic. Blackburn wrote and directed the offbeat and haunting "Miss May Dusa" episode of the 1980's horror anthology TV series "Tales from the Darkside." He was born on March 27, 1943. Outside of his regrettably sparse movie and television work, Richard Blackburn has compiled albums for Rhino Records, written articles for such publications as "L.A. Weekly" and "The Village Voice," and was an associate editor of the book "Too Cool."
