At Pinewood by 1936, assistant to the editor Lister Laurence, working on 'quota quickies' produced by Anthony Havelock-Allan. Full editor from 1942, starting to work on feature films after wartime military service, best known for The Dam Busters (1955) and Ice Cold in Alex (1958).
